i saw a guy, some weeks ago, who went for going in fat powder using his 1260's. are they good in powder, or do you know another ski that is good in the air, nice in powder and also well for carving down the trails in a fast kind?

i' asking cause a friend of mine is looking for a real all mtn ski. park-pipe-powder-trails

Dont use them to ski powder - you'll sink like a fat tub or lard. That guys must have been riding 180+ length and prolly weight 130lbs

Actually I'm 5'11 170lbs riding a 164cm 1260... I was riding waist deep this year just fine, not sinking. It takes skill, not a good ski, just look at the people 30 years ago using dinky little skis for pow pow.

164 in waist deep ..... yeah right. Well if it takes a good skiier to ski pow then wy doesn't mike douglas ride snowblades in powder. That guy is riding 185 pocket rockets through waist deep pow.

it's just easier to ski in pow with a fat ski. he's not saying that he is better than douglas, he just saying that you can ski pow with the 1260 but with effort.

i went out west this year and rode the concepts in waist to chest deep. they sunk like tanks but i had a shit load of fun

All you really need for powder is speed. But I would rather have a fat ski and that's why next year I'm going to try and get the Motherships in 182 because landings on short little park skis suck.

Sled Dogs are also very good for heli skiing. I mean, why pack skis with you when all you really have to bring are your boots with the sled dogs attached? Sled dogs are perfect for walking out of a nasty situation and they're also made of very durable... plastic? Haha, incase you people don't know what sled dogs are they're a mini little ski that's barely bigger than your boot. Kinda like a GT Snoracer ski but smaller.
