id be stoked to see that. kinda like burke pushing to be able to compete with men! but I guess that was a bit different as women had no outlet for freeskiing comps in the early days

Experts predict she will be 5 seconds off the winner. Will be good for women's skiing though, I hope she is allowed to. But it gives her an extra edge on her competitors as she would race the women's race there a week later, so it's unlikely to be allowed.
 
Why? I mean she clearly doesn't have an unfair advantage.

I say for SURE let her race against the boys. That would be epic. Hell, mens divisions should be completely open to women all the time.

That's how I would feel in your shoes. You should utilize that power to make it happen.
 
I disagree, She should definitely not be allowed to compete in an all mens race. Why do you ask? Because men can't go compete in a womens race. Maybe there should be some races for both sexes, but if you let a women into a mens race then you should also allow man to race with the women.

 
Go for it! Just because of her weight she won't be close to the men in downhill. If she feels like placing in the bottom of the pack for once go for it.

There are better races to try it though, races where there aren't a women's event on the same hill the week after.
 
i agree. if she races with men, that will make it seem like women's racing is a lower tier then men's, rather than a separate division at the same level of competition. if she switches to men's it would be a slap in the face to other women.
 
women are at such a disadvantage compared to men when it comes to racing. smaller and lighter things travel downhill more slowly than larger. like in Lindsey's case, when you are the best at what you are doing you need to find new ways to challenge and improve. let her race with the guys! the only people who should care are the dudes who she beats
 
Yeah this is where I sit on this. I would imagine that if I did a bunch of scientific research and cited it here, the findings would be that women were at a physical disadvantage to men due to a variety of factors. These factors would not be in control of the person, but rather genetics.

I'd then postulate that men can't go in a women's competition, because they'd win unfairly. From there, I would suggest that a woman going into a men's race is fine because she is at a disadvantage, and if she can do well then she has proven she is better.

like how I believe a lightweight boxer can compete in heavyweight if they so choose? (again, not fact checking).

What I would add is that if she wants to go in the mens race, she should not be allowed to go into the women's race after. This can't be a method to get a leg up on the women, it should only allow her to compete against the men for her own reasons.

Jon is an amazing racer and he is getting steadily better.

What Bishop said about equality is precisely the logic being used to let her race (Now it is a matter of unfair advantage to the women and the fact it's not in the rules).
 
Yes, that is a very good point and do see where you are coming from.

I however still do disagree. We could do a bunch of research etc. and find that people from a certain area (or country) were at a physical advantage to both the Men and the Women who were racing. Would we then allow that male to compete in the female division as he has a disadvantage.

I also think by that allowing it it will then keep being pushed into other sports. I think everyone agrees that women should not be able to compete with men in any sport.

I think she should simply have an event organized where both sexes are able to compete. If its big enough of an issue there will definitely sponsor money to get people to show up.

 
That is a lie, there are at least 3 other women that do. Namely it is her and Maria Reisch that started the trend though.
 
Not to be sexist or anything but men are typically more athletic then women and I think that she should not have a handicap because she wants to race with the men nobody else wants her too.
