Why would there be a 18 and over catergory in high school competition?

there aren't high school competitons yet so we are just competing at all the competitions around oregon that we can find

how many teams are doing it. the only teams that i know of are hood river and lincoln.

im from hood river and there arent that many kids doing it. like three.

it is still part of the race team so thats why people arent doing it, otherwise most kids would be all over it.
