so i just downloaded limewire and i've had many problems w/ viruses with it. im just wondering what are some tips to finding songs vithout viruses

ive never gotten virus from limewire, dont download the 302kb songs or whatever, they are usually on top. get atleast the 2,000kb songs and you will be fine

Exactly what i did...works prime...and yeah make sure the songs are legit kbs like 3000-7000 kb or what ever

ive had the limewire for like 3 years..not pro just the free one and i have never gotten a virus from it..maybe just good luck or a good virus protector idk

Don't be stupid about it. Use common sense. A 100kb song would be about 10 seconds in length. Thats not what you want.

Limewire is really really sketchy to use. You better have antivirus stuff running when you use it. Better yet, stay away from it with these alternatives:

Torrents: Torrents are completely p2p shared files, and dont run through a program like limewire, ares, napster, soulseek, ect. Thus, they're pretty reliable, and you have to use internet sites to actually search through them. But they work, have very very few viruses, and are most reliable for large files, like movies and games. This is a really good site to get you started:

www.thepiratebay.org

Ares: Another p2p program that I use sometimes instead of Limewire. Some viruses, a little less well known, but has lots of users and good connections usually. I've found quite a few rare songs on it that I cant get on Limewire, so its useful just for that.

Soulseek: Never used it, but I hear its pretty good. I'm probably going to get it after I wipe my HD this weekend and start fresh and clean of Limewire.

Apparently Morpheus is still in existence, but I've never liked it much for some reason. For songs, torrents are unfortunately kinda bad, unless the site Nomensteven posted works (i'm at work, otherwise I'd be all over it right now). Try Ares I guess, or Soulseek.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: If you do use torrents, you can download things without a program to control all of that... but it gets messy quickly, and you have to open each individual download every time. Try a torrent manager; Microtorrent works really well, and has a pretty good search feature as well. There are lots out there, like eMule (an offshoot of eDonkey) that work great too if you want some variety.

same here, If you have a good virus program like AVG (which you can get for free off of the internet) and Windows defender (also free)

i jsut downloaded soulseek and i need a username and password for this. how do i make one? does it cost any money?
