Since BearShare 6, the program is malware-free and cannot be used anymore to download arbitrary files. Instead, BearShare offers paid music downloads in the DRMed WMA format as well as free content in various formats. The free content is shared by users and is automatically verified by BearShare not to infringe. This verification is done using acoustic fingerprinting.

Limewire is fine. Illegally downloading music is soooo 2001.
 
You need to be extra careful when it comes to downloading. Limewire is a haven for virus' and trojans so you really shouldn't use it at all. Bear share i believe is better, but i have no experience. From experience of mine and others, Torrents are the best way to download. It's simple to use really too. Download a client (uTorrent, transmission, bittorrent) Next go to a torrent site (mininova.org, torrentbox.com, torrentspy.com, Piratebay.com, torrentz.com, isohunt.com) Search whatever c d you want or what band or movie or game or program. Download the torrent file, should take like 10s, and then drag or import it into your open bit torrent client, and leave it to download. I use piratebay and isohunt to download and transmission as a client because it allows you to break apart a torrent file and grab individual songs and files. If you want to get into bit, PM me and I'll send screen shots if this was hard to understand.

it is so much better download at like 250 kb/s and no viruses, plus your IP address is untraceable since it does't use it. so you can never get caught!!!

if you have used bearshare or limewire before ill try to put torrents in easier terms.

Bitlord is kinda like bearshare, cept you dont serch on bitlord, you search all over the internet on torrent sites (you saw that guys list). When you download from one of the sites, bitlord will open a torrent and start downloading, you can get ANYTHING with torrents, you just neet to know what youre doing. Tip= try to pick a torrent with as many seeders as possible, it will make the download faster.
 
another easy way to get torrents is through opera. opera is an internet browser (a dope one, but not too quick so I use firefox mostly) and it can download torrents too, without another program. you can just search through those sites and download the files right in opera.
 
limewire can work fine bro. no viruses or slowness for me. i just stop the sharing, i only dl, and im not an idiot about sketchy files.
 
k now i haev everything and i have mucis but it wont let me open it up with bitlort it keeps saying plz try again later blah blah blah wut do i do?
 
i use frostwire, but usually when i download albums i just try to find a megaupload link and download the file or some other link with a .rar or whatever, but you need winRAR to extract the album when its done downloading. www.download.com
