i agree with the facct that a lot of lil waynes songs now are pretty fucking awful, but you also have to admit he is one hell of an artist. Nobody has ever came out with the amount of mixtapes this guy has.
and if you dig deep into his music you can find some pretty dope ass songs.

It doesnt really matter the amount of mix tapes or albums you make. The quality is all that matters. Dylan, Ramones, Tupac; each has put out lots of stuff over there careers, more than alot of others. Dylan and the ramones have NEVER made a bad album. Tupac, death cant even stop him.

Lil wayne got caught with enough narcotics to put him away for 20 years and he gets 18 months and he wont even be in general population because he would become a Betty. Besides for the illegal gun with no serial number. Wayne is just the flavor of the month, he will dissapear as quickly as he appears.

Im pretty sure if Tupac or Biggie was alive right now, lil wayne wouldnt be. He makes a joke out of rap, Rap use to stand for something and he turned it onto a joke. Besides what kind of dumbass shoots himself in the face and get a girl pregnant at 13. Real Positive role model for kids in urban settings.
 
Umm.... no, think about how amazing underground rappers there are that haven't had nearly the amount of success as Wayne, but are 10 times better.
 
ill try and put this into perspective a little...

im 19 almost 20...the rap i grew up on having an older brother; biggie, nas, eazy e, big l, method man, everyone in wu tang, jay z and many others. each artist basically attracts a certain group of people. for example, my freshman year i lisened to people under the stairs, tribe, peter tosh, gift of gab...shit like that but also liked the main stream shit. lil waynes attracting that new generation because when i play the old stuff i used to listen to..it doesnt have that up tempo party dance type vibe to it. i like lil waynes mixtapes carter 2 and some songs on the carter 3. whose to say biggie or tupac wouldnt have changed their style to attract the new generation of rap listeners. lil waynes music is creative in some aspects and i agree it sucks in others. but hes got more money then ill ever see and at the end of the day...we are all just trying to make money to live a good life. its a job. so to everyone who bitches that he sucks and his music is lame..get of his dick. its fucking annoying
 
thats the thing though, hes got a lot of money and hes got a huge influence on people today and the world in general. instead of using his influence and talent to actually get a message across to his audience, he choses to rap about how hes got a bunch of money and hoes, and stupid shit like "weed and syrup til i die". like wtf is that? i feel like he thinks his only purpose in life is to get as much money as he can by doing anything that will get him that money, and look as gangster as he possibly can. real artists like tupac are where it's at, he actually made sense and was passionate about what he was sayin.
 
philcote....i agree with what u said. but i never said he was mature. hes a fake gangster in my mind. yeah sure he grew up in a tough area but lines when he claims to be a blood...id be more then willing to agree that he bought himself in to add to his "resume" dont get it confused tho...guys like biggie rap about selling rock pot and girls. dont really like tupac a lot only a few songs so i cant speak for him as much. lil wayne doesnt make inspirational music...hes gonna rap about what he knows and does. not many people shit on eminem but listen to his lyrics...im gonna go ahead and say that those are by far more controversial and inappropriate then lil waynes drink serp smoke weed and get ur nut gimic
