Lil Wayne cant rap.

i sense a shanking coming for this... but... Sean Paul, who for some reason everyone either hates or loves has more raw talent than Wayne does in my opinion... even fucking Lil Jon who only says yeah, what, n****r, or something about weed has more talent that Wayne....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. Ghostwritten? listen to the freestyles i just posted. You are the definition of someone who thinks they know what rap is. you say LOX was good, but styles solo career is wack? here are some songs lets see if you can grasp whats going on in them.

FOR FUCKS SAKE PEOPLE ITS FUCKING MUSIC!!! WHO GIVES A FUCK IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, OR SOMEONE ELSE DOESNT LIKE IT. ITS NOT YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM

i guess my point is kinda what ben is trying to say... music is a subjective thing.

and peole tell me that rammstein has no talent so i shouldnt listen to them.

Klaz...homie...I still need you to answer for your claims that Cassidy's bars are ghosted.
He's Philly's most respected punchline lyricist...no question.

"We keep hoes crunk like Trigga-man
Who really don't get no bigger man
Don't trip, let's flip, then throw it on the flip
Then blow with the muthafuckin' Jigga-man"
really? i could pull some retarded lines outta any hip hop artists lyrics...The point is he's probably one of the more creative artists out there in his approach to the music that's inspired a ton of other artists. Him playing around with rock is just another path he's opening for the future of music. Snoop dog doesnt make sense half the time but he's considered one of the best rappers of the west coast? but he's done great things for hip hop in terms of style and flow and thats the same thing wayne has done. I think some of you are so stuck up about "jumping on the weezy wagon" that you refuse to admit he's half way decent and actually go in the opposite direction saying he's terrible so you can sound all intelligent and what not about hip hop and what not. when all you do is listen to hip hop and the actual artists of the hip hop community are saying this guy could be the best/most influential rapper alive, your probably the one thats right, they don't know anything about hip hop.....

I still dont understand how you think Styles P is wack. He would kill almost all 20 of the names you listed. DOnt listen to those 3 songs for flow or beats. Listen lyrically.

Ummm actually he can rap.....he does it right here and there are other various songs and videos of him rapping

thank you brother, everyone is entitled to their choice of music though. the hating should stop either way. weezy's beats are so fucking sick imo.

what people dont realize too, is that a lot of his shit is spit straight from the dome.

"fresh on campus its the birdman junior, money to long teachers put away your rulers"

unnnnhhhhh fucking dirty

I listen to a lot of tha stuff people in here think is "real rap", but i still like the Dedications and The drought is over volumes.

I'm with you. I don't feel like it's an either/or scenario. I don't like all food for the same reasons, I don't like all movies for the same reasons, etc.
I don't always need to be intellectually challenged, or engaged on an overly cerebral level, to enjoy music.
I really feel like there's some value in Wayne's music (granted some of that value is a product of production/beat selection, something that he's obviously not directly responsible for), and I'm sort of blown away by all of the hate. Obviously, his approach to rhyming and making music is completely incomparable to the vast majority of the artists that his detractors in this thread are citing as "real" hip-hop. They don't really strike me as particularly valid or relevant comparisons.

I didn't say what real rap was!!!! I think all rap is really rap (excluding soulja boy). Everyone bitching thinks real rap is only Nas, Jay, Biggie, Pac, Aesop, P.O.S., or Gangstarr. Whoever. I like it all for tha most part. I think weezy can rap.

"Bitch swallow my words, taste my thoughts, and if it's to nasty, spit it back at me"- Sounds mad fresh to me.

I agree with you.

Here is a better more refined version of claims i had stated earlier.

All of you saying that all of the people who made it, such as Wayne, Jay, Nas, Slim Thug, and people like that, the MTV rap if you will is terrible do not really know what they did when they were at the Blue scholars, looptroop, Hilltop Hoods stage. They may make commercial garbage now, but before all the fame and glamour of being a star, they were hustling out on the block trying to make money. They all had to put in there do's and win a fair share of battles on the block just to get noticed. Following getting signed by a label, a lot of them had to go through a stage of proving themselves with sick songs and freestyles proving their worth. Even though all these guys may not make the best rap anymore, they still have the skill that put them there in the first place. The become mature and realize that they have mouths to feed and people they care about to take care of, and staying true to ''real rap" will not get that done. In the words of Cassidy, one of the greatest in our time...

" Ain't no money in battlin, and i gatta eat."

that fucker cracks me up...its funny and fresh

and i believe it was either casual or alek (the ones who are making valid points in this thread) that said rap doesn't have to be incomprehensibly (sp?) challenging to make it good rap for me....I'm not a fan of weezy's new shit to be honest but if you guys would give him a chance and listen to his hold stuff like lil weezy ana or young money mixtape vol 1. shit back then...i think you would actually like a small portion of his stuff...I'm shocked at the numerous "lil wayne is gay, he sucks" blah blah blah etc...and most of the "underground" stuff posted I listened to, to me, is not fun or appealing to my ears...the lyrics might be "good" or have "meaning" to the them but they bore me....wayne is funny fresh and drops sick lines in his tapes from a few years ago.....

please jump off the hatecycle and give him a listen....damn

money money money get a dollar and a dick, weezy baby that crack, mutha fucka get a fix, got money out the ass, no homo but im rich, bout to get surgery and put some diamonds in my wrists, yes, yep im a mutha fuckin trip, ima trip to japan and buy some brand new shit, nine hundred to a grand get you twenty eight grams, if you talkin bout bricks im the interstate man, and the women say damn, them niggas dont say a damn thing, boy i bet that shotty make you bounce like a bed spring, walkin the thin line, gotta defend my end, with no pin, im sorta like a bomb, boom, young tune yeah thats what my people call me, fifty thousand for the cause tryin to keep the reaper off me, i drink a lot of syrup bitches say im sleep walkin, big money for the girl so im never cheap talkin...

dont tell me he cant rap.

ok this is the first song that i have ever hear of him thats OK ... not good but OK, but you have to agree he is a sell out. come on have you heard his new rock song ? I just dont get why people listen to him when there is so much better stuff out there

can you read? he is doing a rock album for him he doesn't give a fuck if people like it. Dudes a genious, period. I think most of your problems with this is, you don't understand what he is actually saying in his raps, same thing with all the Styles P i posted. If you knew what they were talking about, you would appriciate it more.

i have heard all the best song from him cuz i get hate mail every day with links to his songs, so dont talk about something you dont know anything about. KUKKSUGER.

DUDE you are right onnnn with this!!! all of these doomtree/rhymesayers fans simply hop on the bandwagon to hate lil' wayne because they think that must be the intelligent thing to do. their preferences in hip-hop manifest how boring and affective they truly are however. but you were right on with this

i can't be the only one who is seeing this thread as broken.

or the only one who noticed that lil wankers "freestyle" broke it.

mostly just putting this in mythreads to listen to all those songs when the time arises..

BUUUUUUT, i do have to say that drought 3 is still a good album. i hate the vast majority of his new shit, and im as tired of him as most people, but drought 3 is a damn good album. lyrics are just sick
