Lil Wayne cant rap.

Lil Wayne kills it. Like some of his stuff isnt great but when you put out as much music as he does its not all ganna be good. i bet that no one in this thread could even come as close to doing what he has done

But Asian_Allen of course you posted great music. I honestly can't imagine people who know anything about hip hop and rap would choose Lil Wayne over any of those artists. But still. He's there, creating what he wants, re-creating himself however he chooses. I can't hate on that.

O and thank you for posting Travelin Man, easily one of my favorite songs of all time. I seriously can't wait for the new Mos Def album.

haha actually i've maintained from a 3.8-4.0gpa through highschool only a mediocre score of 25 on my act you're right i am very mentally retarted...and oh ya because i do like wayne's good rap i know nothing about hip hop....i mean i listed to really shitty hip hop like biggie tupac nas the fugees del erick sermon gza(and of course rest of wu) jadakiss just to name a few of the shitty hip hop artists i listen to..they all suck right?
 
im not criticizing it... im just saying it makes it fucking hard to read... and ive been doing midterms and other garbage and i come to NS to relax and having to read through something like that with no commas just annoys me right now....

Who are you to say who i have to respect? And how does putting out a lot of albums make you talented? I've listened to a fair amount of Lil Wayne's stuff and some of it is OK but mainly because of the catchy beats put together for him and he speaks in a unique way. But I really don't get why he's so fucking popular. His lyrics are shitty and repetitive and there are so many other artists that deserve to be selling more than Lil Wayne. In selling lots of albums what has he done for music? He's encouraged a style of rap/hip hop that doesn't appeal to me much at all. I respect Lil Wayne as a smart businessman and he obviously has some helpful hookups but as an artist, he's just mediocre. If you stop making assumptions about someone's talent and how much respect he deserves based on how much product he sells, you'll realize that Lil Wayne himself isn't anything special.

Dude, those metaphors suck. Li'l Wayne is so fucking stupid. His lyrics are uninspired and unintelligent, his rhymes are talentless, his flow is mediocre, and his voice is whiny and annoying. Fuck Weezy.

So your saying hes good because hes mainstream? If he was doing his rock stuff for fun he wouldnt be attempting to make money off it. And I agree that he is good for some club/ dance music but when it comes to lyrical rap he doesnt come close to adequate.

ok i agree that some of his shit sucks. but thats the shit on the radio and shit girls like. if you listen to mixtapes and shit you would know he does have talent and is a good rapper. songs like Prom queen suck but thats just to sell. listen to mr carter - lil wayne ft. jay-z. lyrics are amaing and has good flow. blowin up fast is one of my favorite songs because of the beat and lyrics and his flow. you cant judge him based on shit you hear on the radio. i hate most of that shit too. btw he is super good at freestyles.
 
Here is an alternative to Lil Wayne, imo Wiz Khalifa has better lyrics, flow, and most of all better freestyle. I mean come on he is texting and smoking while he freestyles.... that takes talents

Lil Wayne does suck, his lyrics are so bad, i think the only reason hes so appealing to people is because most of his beats are beats/rythems from other popular songs that have been remixed... lysten to this their rhymes are freestyled and still amazing, its slug, vast aire, immortal, EL P, Aesopn and some others. some of the rhymes are mind blowing, its the realshit and their not getting much credit for their skill
 
weezy used to be good, when he'd rap with big tymers and stuff, but i just cant stand him now. the only rap ill listen to is good lyrical shit, not rap with a nasty beat. all weezy does is cop a sick instrumental, then he groans and whines to the beat to make it sound uber legit. he should stop "making 3 songs a day", narrow it down to maybe 2 or 3 albums a year with some mixtapes, and then we'd be talking. hes putting out so many verses, he wont have any left fuck

I don't understand why people are ripping on lil wayne's lyrics saying that they don't mean anything. Have you looked at the lyrics to almost any song, from almost any genre. Most of them don't make sense either. Music doesn't have to make sense, it just has to sound good. And yes some of lil waynes songs are not good, but he also has some ridiculous lyrics in others.
 
this may make some peoples ears bleed but i waited over 4 years for the new GnR album (not that good but its decent), over 3 for the new Metallica one, and ive been waiting close to 5 for the Rammstein album due out this summer..... and for the most part the first two were pretty good, not as good as their original stuff but worth the money... Wayne keeps pumping things out every couple months and they all sound the same... jeez.
 
Lil wayne has good songs and bad songs...though for the people who say he sucks he must do something right cause he has made more money last month than you could ever imagine to make in your life.
 
first high school was easy. i think i had like a 2.5 average in highschool. and got a 23 on my act's so.. that has nothing to do with the thread..

lil wayne isnt a rapper hes a hustler... good at selling shit, hes just a salesman. if you watched some of the videos or have done some exploring you can see this... if you tell a kid when its born that a dog is a cat, and a cat is dog they are going to believe you.. just like if you tell a teenage girl that lil wayne is the best, they are going to believe it and go and have daddy buy them the album... lil wayne isnt a rapper hes a signer, who sorta qualifies for being a hip hop signer i guess...

this thread says lil wayne isnt a good rapper and has shit for lyrics.. so post some great lyrics of his that actually have some meaning to them?

and music is about quality over quality. look at guns and roses.. took them forever to put out Chinese democracy because they wanted everything to be perfect and good.. hard to top appetite for destruction. but they tried to...
