Hey guys, just thought I would throw this out there for anyone who needs something to do Thursday night. This will be my first public performance as FadetoGrey throwing a dubstep set as well as two stages of awesome local DJs and producers.

Starts at 9 at the Oasis Bar at 1523 Market street. It is a 21+ event, with $2 PBRs and $4 Wells and NO COVER.

Anyway, thought some of you might be interested, sorry about the late notice. Here is the FB event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=164944010211240

Peace!

no, one of my good friends bartends there and was giving me free booze, so I stayed for two hours and got good n' hammered and then left. I meant no offense to you, as I respect anybody who plays out and does what they love, I just absolutely despise the crowds that dubstep brings out. I would have stayed but my preferences tend to drift towards fidget and electro.

Ah Ok, gotcha, I was just a little confused as you might imagine. I completely understand what you mean about the crowds, but what can you do, right?

Thanks for the support either way, I just started playing out, that was basically my first real gig. Looking forward to more in the future! You don't have to deal with the crowds as much from behind the booth haha

true, though you'll soon find out that there is always

1. Question Guy, that gets in the booth and lingers over your shoulder, asking you about everything

2. Request Girl, who will ask you to play a song, then another, then another, then another, etc.

3. Drink bro, who will dance right next to the booth and set his drink repeatedly right next to your equipment (assuming its your equipment)

4. the promoter, who will try to get out of paying you whatever you agreed upon

Hahaha this is so true! But I think he already knows this, I found this out the first day I helped my friend on Halloween.

Nate I wish I was there

I would... dubstep is hardly music. my friend goes to berkley school of music in boston and they just laugh at dubstep, you can make the same noises with your ass and a synthesizer.

Actually all you need is a synthesizer, the ass is unnecessary. I am very happy for your friends. I love music, but I don't think I am talented enough (or enough of a douche perhaps) to major in music. Instead I'm majoring in electrical and computer engineering (lame I know) oh and next semester I am starting an 18 credit certificate in Music Technology so I can hopefully help progress the technology that a ton of musicians worldwide use on a regular basis.

And Kaily you are right, I def. know that already, but its just part of the gig. I will keep doing it until it stops being fun because I legitimately enjoy what I do and I really think that almost anyone can share something new and emotional through music, ass noises or not.

honestly I didn't read your OP so I wasn't trying to hate on your music, I only read what Dan said. But at least you're trying and actually creating something, which is cool

hah! i laugh at your ignorance. my brother goes to berkley school of music and is becoming a fan of dubstep- he had never heard it until he went there last semester and he's starting to enjoy it... both his roomates are huuggee dubstep and electrohouse fans.... while i was there i heard more electro than classical and jazz combined... so i don't see where you're coming from.

dubstep music is a joke to me.

That crap is simply modern disco. And DISCO SUCKS. Just like disco died with a swift kick to the face from late 70'z early 80'z hard rock, so will dubstep.

kids put down that shit you call music, go buy a Thin Lizzy album, and fucking start to live.

lots of people will agree with you, and lots will disagree, disco never died... it's just been changed
