Lightning Boards: crazy modern shaped wooden skis

Their skis look pretty cool, have some nice shapes and there only $165.00!!! They even offer a Spatula/Pontoon style ski. I'm thinking they're heavy as hell though. What you guys think? Check the website out.

Is 3900g heavy for big mountain skis?

It's 3960g for the park ski.

Yea they are all around that weight. So thats over 8.5 pounds for a pair.

I wanna give those a try. The polycarb edges make me wonder though....

The "Ultimate" looks pretty dank, like wooden Spatulas. All for $165, wish they had pictures of the bases and edges though.

The base material is legit...lots of snowboard companies use electra 4000. The edges though...I'm not so sure about polycarbonate.

If it is legit, I'd be so interested in those pontoon ones.

POLYCARBONATE? yea I have no idea. It is very impact resistant though, I know its used in riot shields and bullet proof glass. Its pretty dense so assume its very similar to steel edges.

my dad is going to buy the lunars. id get the spat ones or the other ones thatre fat, but theyre sold out.

That sure is a lot of similar dimension skis to make. And none of them long at all bummer. I emailed him about making longer powder and big mountain skis, we'll see what he says.
