Lightest skis imagineable

ok so the skiis i have right now are heavy...way too heavy, and im looking for a really light pair. i can't do freesytle stuff (knees cant take it -- it sucks) but i think twin tips would still be fun...

any suggestions?
 
I don't know if you're looking for a girl specific park ski but if you're not i'm sure a smaller line invader would be pretty good for you
 
invaders are light. i don't own a pair but i've ridden them and they are really easy to get around on and are a lot lighter than most of the twintips i've ridden, if not all of them.

of course, it would help to know what kind of terrain you plan on riding.
 
07 Rossi Scratch WRS FS pro models are freakishly light and you can find them for like 220 on line

light skis dont make a good skier, they can help, but wont necesarily (spelled wrong) build up leg strength which helps a lot
 
personally, I feel that freestyle and touring are the only two things where a lighter setup is going to help. Heavier skis go through crud better, dont deflect as easily, and hold a better edge on ice. I'm just curious as to why you're looking for a lighter ski
 
I have last years moment reno jibs and there 1.5 lbs each (feathers)

also i bought look px12 bindings,(bad choice if you want light skis)
 
Liberty Larose's are bamboo core and are really light.

Bindings also add a lot of unnecessary weight. Salomon's are by far lighter then most bindings, just keep that in mind.
 
I guarantee the Liberty Larose pros are one of the lightest, most durable skis out there.

I have a pair with the Salomon bindings and it's absurd light.
 
realistically the lightest ski is going to be some foam core piece of shit. There needs the be a compromise of weight for performance someplace.
 
They are the perfect weight for their size if you ask me. I don't think a light ski is all that nice though for park stuff. Having that weight is nive for counterbalance.

 
the deal is i have torn ACLs from various take-offs and landing, and my joints are terrible (they didnt form properly) so theres that and then to compenstae for the lack of fun in the park ive taken to seeing just how fast i can get down the hill...in a straight line...only turning if i have to, hahaha.
 
Give a bit more detail about how you like to ski... talk about what you do on the hill and there's better info to be given.

Many companies make light skis, but not all would be good at high speeds like you say. Best to describe all your skiing needs, and then we can give you some good advice!

 
07 Rossi Scratch FS.. I think it got said already but when I picked one of those guys up in store I was shocked how insanely light it was.
 
older salomons with the foam cores (thrusters foils spks guns flyers) are super light and a good ski imo last year was there last year making them so pick some up. My punx are pretty light too.
 
goode makes skis entirely from carbon fiber. they weigh like a pound each, not even.

oh wait, youre talking about twin tippers arnt you.
 
So i think the question has now evolved to what is the lightest ski and binding combo, i know moments reno jibs are way light, how about bindings?!

i have taken to going straitgh down the hiil. literally, hahaha

i like the moguls, and steep stuff, and im guessing the twin tips would make it easire to get thru some of that stuff. and yes, my skis give me more momentum but its difficult to get them to that point, and getting there is where all the strain comes in.

i still try the smaller jumps and such (like three footers, ha), but its killer, but i still like to have fun on them

and as for the foam core stuff, isnt it terrible? ive never ridden on it...

 
this isnt true. well not comparatively.. my 181 reno rockers are lighter than 169 volkl walls.. noticeably..
in answer to the question.. if you arent interested in top park performance.. then i would go for moment spades (or stilletos if you can handle 171) and z10/12 bindings for ultimate light weight.. light bindings will make more of a difference to weight than skis though..
 
foam cores arent terrible, theyre just a lil more fragile, its more personal preforance. I ride JO pros and they are lighter that anything else trust me, and the grete ellisen pros are the exact same ski w/ a diff graphic so theyre gonna be just as light. I think that will be ur best bet
 
instead or crunching down into a turn to get the heavy skiis to move it, would moving my bindings from the center of my skiis up forward a little bit? would that help to compensate instead of super light skiis, or am i better off with something lighter?

the bindings i have are atomic neox i think, and my skiis are volants.
 
think center mounting would be any better? i think it might make manuvering a little better, more balanced, but i dont know, going from heavy shaped skis to twins will be a nice improvement.
 
are you sure your volants were center mounted? I mount at a shop and i've never heard or seen center mounted volants especially w/ neox binders
