Light switches in dreams

where do you think things like hydras or sphinx's come from in mythology? Alot of the crazzy ass mythological creatures that have become ingrained in our social concious have routes in the dreams of ancient greek and egyptian mythmakers. When the primitive thinker runs into something in a dream, they have no way to distinguish a "dream world" from a "real world". Tto them, the dream world was just as real as the world they spend thier wakeing hours in.

Yeah, you should watch Waking Life. Basically the question it poses is, "are we sleep-walking through our waking state or wake-walking through our dreams?" which is essentially what you're asking...

Thom, I can't tell if you understand what I meant. Did you read everything I said prior about what a lucid dream is?

i wasnt sure what you meant by "you're far more likely to remember lucid dreams after you wake up" does that mean that just randomly throughout the day im going to be like "oh man, i dreamt that i did this last night" or does it mean that because im coucious in my dream and aware that im dreaming, im far more likly to remember it?

Alright, what I meant was... because a lucid dream combines both your dreaming and waking states (you are aware that you're in a dream), youre more likely to have remembered the dream after you wake up, because your conscious mind was aware of it happening... does that make sense?

yah, it makes perfect sence... i think... so are you saying that when i wake up and remember a lucid dream iv had, it might not have been the one i was dreaming as i woke up, but one i had earlier in the night?

Because in my experince, when i realize that im dreaming, i start to play around with the dream, and when something happens that i cant make sence of, like someone gives me some paper and says "read this" if i cant figure out whats on the paper, i find myself really wanting to know whats on the paper. I cant let the idea go, so I concentrate hard to try and make something apear, and I guess because of the added mental energy, i stop dreaming and wake up. I guess it just seems to be the normal thing to do for me, you realize your dreaming, and then the next step from that is to wake up, so i wake up. Does that make any sence?

You can take courses and stuff on lucid dreaming and all that crap.

It's how some people get over reoccuring nightmares and fears.

o my god i watched that movie while i was high and it was the coolest fuckign thing ever, i reccomend that movie hugely.
