Lifting For 3 Months...

I'm going to be home from school for 3 and a half month starting in the beginning of may. I'm looking to put on some weight and was wondering, if I got in a pretty good routine and worked out for 3 and a half months, how much bigger do you think I would get? Basically I'm looking for motivation. Just knowing that I could gain a certain amount of weight and physically look bigger would be really good motivation. But I'm looking for an honest answer. Also should I use those protein shakes? They are pretty expensive so unless they make a huge difference I'd rather save my money. But if they really do help then I'd deff buy them.

just keep doing it and stick with it, my problem is that ill lift for like a few weeks and then just stop going t o the gym, if you keep going youll see a big increase in your muscle mass, also if you used to work out or soemthing you will see that you will get back "in shape" a lot quicker than starting from nothing

What I forgot to write in my earlier post was what were peoples experiences. Like for anyone who has lifted over the summer, how much did you gain personally/?

Unfortunately there is no way to tell you how much weight you can gain in three months. There are so many factors that are involved...metabolism, diet, training program, etc. Your best bet is to eat like a god damn horse and train like a maniac. Protein shakes are great - the standard is generally 1.5 grams of protein per lb of your body weight which should be consumed over the course of the day. All of that doesn't have to come from shakes. You can incorporate different high protein foods in to your diet as well...tuna, eggs, chicken breasts (unbreaded), lean beef, etc. In three months time you should notice some improvement, but don't expect to look like Arnold. Good luck man.

I gained 15 pounds in 3 1/2 months last sememester because it was my freshman semester and i never had food at home because my parents never went shopping... so i just ate at the dining hall 3 times a day and ate everything i could... then i went to the gym every night and played some intermurals for cardio. Anyways in the end i think i gained about 12 pounds muscle and 3 pounds fat but overall i definately got bigger.

i think youll get this big

Definitely do it man. It's so worth it. I'm definitely not a lifter but I've seen what just a few months of hard work will do. If anything you'll be looking ripped when you go back to school.

Just stick with a good workout, working all of your body parts throughout the week.

I would definitely suggest protein shakes, they taste aweful IMO but they are an essential thing to get protein in your system right after working out. Because I don't know about you but I sure don't want to cook a big meal after I'm done working out. I just want to lay around.

But when you think about it. The shakes aren't really that expensive, just get an off brand product at a local mega mart for like 10 or 15 dollars. You don't need the really expensive stuff they sell at GNC. Then just snack on peanuts or almonds all day and you'll get the protein you need. Just don't forget to eat before you lift like an hour or so with some simple carbs so you can lift longer.

Good luck on your lifting. I'm starting a program right now and I hope that come next year at college I'll be ripped.

Good advice.

Be carefull though. I put on as much weight as I possibly could one summer, and when hockey season came around I got winded so easily I was pretty much useless.

If you want to put on functional muscle you should do toning exercises and lots of cardio.

If you wanna be built like a brick shit house follow the advice above.

i started lifting on a regular basis between 3-4 months ago, so i would have the answer, i can definitly see a difference, nothing too drastic, but im lifting about 50 pounds more than i could, it was a really good thing for me to start up, dont worry about how big your gona get just go do it

Buy creatine and N02. They cost some money (shop around a little) but they are like a low dose of steroids that don't make you go crazy or make your nuts shrink. The are legal too as long as your 18

get some whey protien the biggest part about putting on muscle is to put on fat first. eat a shit load drink lots of water. in 3 months i went from squating 150 10x to 225 10x and benching max 110 to max 160. this was in 10th grade and i havent lifted since but im ganna start again soon

You'll probably lose weight at first if you haven't lifted much before as your fat goes down, but in 3 months of hardcore lifting I'd guess you could gain anywhere from 5-15 lbs. Somewhere in between there. Eat healthy, and don't just do bench. You should aim for a full body tone, so do all the workouts from squats to clean to just doing crunches.

If your a skinny guy wanting to get bigger I would maybe suggest creatine. If your already big creatine will do nothing but load you up with unnecessary junk that you don't need. Allot of my friends that have used creatine regret it because once you stop using it all your mass begins to shrink. Best bet: If your a Smaller guy give creatine a try but don't be surprised to lose some of the mass you gain when you stop working out. Bigger guy- just lift. Maybe try a fat burning supplement like hydroxycut or something along the lines of that.

So...heres what you do, go to your local drug dealer and tell him to hook you up with some steroids. See what happened to Barry Bonds? That could be you...

In my opnion, don't take anything. Lifting all natural is way more satisfying then knowing that you didn't get that big on your own. Eat peanut butter sandwiches like two a day and believe me it pays off. I started lifiting everyday sence jan 1 and i have gained about 5 pounds but i lost body fat and am solid. i weigh 150 and can lift 60 pounds more than i could when i began and everyone gives you compliments sayin how your gettin big and it rocks. dont worry about fast results cause you don't want to burn yourself out too quick. My reccomendations are start slow, get a routiene that you work different muscles every day. i do chest and abs one day bicepts tricepts one day, back and shoulders one day and full legs what consists of leg presses squats and running. Go for the overall result cause you don't want to have huge bicepts and have a little chest, looks wierd. another thing no fast food no pop and don't eat crap. All that extra oil and carbination just slows you down and will give you a bad day of lifting promise. Hope it works out for you give me a message if you need help getting a routiene together.

Dude, if you want to get big fast take shit. Get whey protein, eat your steak eggs and tuna, and take creatine/no xplode and in 3 months you will see pretty decent results. I have done it "all natural" following a pretty shitty off and on diet of high protein foods and the main thing is getting your protein and getting in the gym. Nobody motivated me, I motivated myself. I used to be a fat fuck and seeing myself get skinnier and also my muscles start popping out is more than enough motivation for me to down 3 cans of tuna a day and go to the gym 6 days a week.

if your new to it then stick to the basics, eat like motherfucker but not all fucken twinkies and shit, steaks, eggs, potatoes, pasta, rice, chicken, turkey, ground beef. just by eating your life away and good ole compound movements youll be well on your way

just eat protien meals......

fuck whey.......

if your into it.....

....which its fine contrary to popular belief

Creatine

use it fer two months er so...then continue to work out the last month.....

you'll have noticable imporvement...work out everyday or as much as possilbe....

an only take reccommeneded amounts

Use a product called CYTOGAINER. It's gold I used it and it tasted great and worked even better. 15 pounds in 6 months.
