Lifters vs Regular bindings

Not quite sure what difference lifters make. I know you can take them off and grind down the screws/get new screws but i want to know how they work. ++karma for help

lifters will give you more torque from your shins by raising the standheight so you'll be able to carve more efficiently. Plus it's harder to boot out in a turn. If you have them, leave them on, you'll be doing yourself a favor

lifters are mostly for race. they raise your center of grabity so you can turn sharper, your turns are easyer to iniciate and you have more room for your boots not to touch the snow when turning on a dime. mostly they make your skis more responsive to turns when you carve. for park theyre not usefull since its rare that you ever need to turn sharply ( getting your speed) it does take away balance and you want your skis to be as light as possible so for the little to no advantages they give in park its not worth the extra weight. leave it for the racers!

well im sort of assuming that hes not a racer. If your a typical all mountain skier your not going to want no lift on a 130 underfoot, and vice versa.

realistically half of the park rats out there wouldn't be able to tell the difference between having risers under their bindings or not.

funny but my rail skis with ZERO edges have dirty riser plates for sick carves

thanks for the advice. i guess i should have specified what type of skiier i am. i enjoy everything, park, bombing, glades...all mountain skiing.
