Lift operation footwear

I am a lift operator at mt baker ths winter and ive been wondering what i should use for footwear while working. Since I dont think i can work all day in my ski boots. Any recommendations?

are they high top at all or just regular, and im thinking target stuff isnt gonna be that waterproof.

i was also thinkin should i just get a pair of soft snowboard boots for workin in. any thoughts?

well you could get uggs.................... or i would get some osiris bronx, you can find them for like 60 online, best shoes ever, and mad comfy

Im not looking for skate shoes or anything. I need something that i can wear all day in the rain and snow and cold. Any lifties out there have any ideas?

Get some proper Sorel winter boots. I have a nice pair and they're the warmest things my feet have ever been in.

VERDICT IS>>>>>

sorrel

don't go the cheap route... pick up a nice pair of sorrels I've been rockin the same boots for three years and love em to death!

when i worked outside ski check i wore some kind of sorel boots, i would get those or a water proof boot that is for winter and is comfy

I would say sorels, i dont know how cold it gets down there though. Ive worn my Military issue bunny boots outside at temps of -10 to -50 for two to three weeks straight and have never had cold feet yet. They dont look very steezy but they work and are hella cheaper than a good set of sorrels. Also Rocky and Bellville make some boots that are very waterproof and have liners. So on days its say 20 degreese or better you take out the liner and just wear the 200g boot, cold days your through the 400g liner in and its very warm adn dry. Its more about socks than anything. Something thats moisture wicking and you need ot be changing them every couple hours. I wear sock liners or just thin ass dress socks when im wearing those boots. And i wear them everyday to work and i am outside at night in the cold a lot. me and my wife were both out at the Dropzone last night ( we both jump out of planes for the army) from like 10:30 pm till about 3 am and had basically the same boots on, i changed my socks at like 1 and she didnt, her feet were freezing. it was only like 15 degreese and i didnt even have my boot liners in. Its all personal prefrence though.

Damn never thought i could talk so much about boots.

x2. I always wore Sorel boots when I was a lifty. Well, until I just started wearing my AT boots to work, then I stayed in those all day. But if you don't have those, Sorels are the only way to go!.

ski boots! just dont buckle them tight well i got some nordicas and they are like shoes i could wear them all day.

mt baker thats awesome i love that place its my home away from home now, maybe i will get to see you. say what up to mouse and eliah for me!

Just get some snowboard boots. Then get an old used snowboard setup and rock that if you're working all day and only get a few runs.

I have a pair. They're not that warm and not that waterproof. Better than skate shoes though.

my friends has some and he is in love with them...

he was really stoked on snowskating for a while.. he only had the best things to say about these shoes.

I'd say either spend some money on a good pair of hiking/work boots that will last you a long time. Or if your still growing super fast then get a pair of $20 work boots from Target or Walmart for the season.

I have a pair of like $30 Kamik winter boots from Canadian tire and they are basic, but warm as hell. All they are is a two layer felt liner inside like a nylon shell with a rubber bottom part. They are nice and warm and don't really get wet since the bottom part is solid rubber
