LIFE OF A LIFTY

I was a lifty for three weeks back in Ontario my first winter out of high school. They fired my ass, and thus began my 'career' ask a 'ski bum'. I gave the lifty thing another try a few years later when I broke my ankle one winter. After two days I decided that shit was bunk and quit.

Most of my lifty friends seam to really enjoy the job. Most of them.

I had a friend who was a liftie on one of the least visited chairs on the mountain a few years ago. The lift was on wind hold and we were both stuck at the bottom at the end of the day. We made an entire leaving room out of snow. I'm talking arm chair, sofa, coffee table, and fake tv with ski pole antennas.

Twas legit as hell.

The life of a lifty:

wake up late, smoke three bowls, saunter to work

stand around all day, smoke six bowls behind the shack, bitch about some gaper or augh at a kid with 189mm wide skis on a galcial day.

get to take a few runs, smoke three more bowls while doing so

get out of work, hook up with the bros, smoke 18 bowls, stay up way too late, smoke five more bowls, and forget to set alarm

I'd say rinse and repeat, but everyone knows lifties only shower once a week.

Seems like the life schraderbrau, imma do it if I ever get out of this shitty ass job. How do you leave somewhere that pays you good, gets you a car, gets you an iPhone, hooks you up with one of my coworkers daughter, gives me cash in hand on Fridays? It's just a really shit job jah feel?

I'm a lofty for winter and summer. During the summer we threw a 60 pound pumpkin of the chair onto a rock slab. That thing fucking exploded!
