Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway. He reckoned it just wasn't worth the effort to retrieve the donkey.

So, he invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping-stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.

2. Free your mind from worries.

3. Live simply.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less.

Oh, and one other thing....

The donkey later came back kicked the crap out of the farmer who had tried to bury him. Which brings me to another moral of this story: If you try to cover your ass, it always comes back get you.

That reminds me of this time a mother chicken was walking with her little chicks when all of a sudden two of the little chicks got stuck in the mud. The mother chicken went to the farmer and said, "my chicks are stuck in the mud please help them out." The farmer went to his garage and pulled out his ferrari, tied a rope to the back of it, and threw the other end to the chicks. He yelled, "grab hold of the rope and i will pull you out." The chicks grabbed the rope but the ferrari just spun out in the mud and couldnt go anywhere. The mother chicken started to cry. she thought her little chicks would surly die in the mud. Just then the horse walked out of the stable, trotted into the mud, lowered his cock over the chicks and told them to grab hold. They latched on and he walked them right out of the mud to the waiting mother chicken. Her little chicks were safe again.

Moral of the story: If your hung like a horse, you dont need a ferrari to pick up chicks.

Hey, I know a joke! A squirrel walks up to a tree and says, "I forgot to store acorns for the winter and now I am dead." Ha! It is funny because the squirrel gets dead.

so if the dirt is the bad things that happen to you in life, then what's the well? it cant be a problem because the dirt represents the problems and if its life, does that mean climbing out of the well is death? the end of life?

this is a terrible story to teach about life.

haha, welcome back, very dark.

The dirt is the challenges you face in life, you can either lay down and take it, or brush them off and fight through dirt and get on top.

the well represents the journey of life in that you either choose to stay at the bottom of the well and let yourself be covered by the dirt (challenges/problems) or you climb to the top of well by using and building upon your challenges/problems to be successful

essentially you either lay down and die in the face of adversity or instead use it in your favour

haha i liked that.
