I've played baseball all my life and was going to play at West Virginia University but I played like shit there this past weekend. I've palyed baseball all my life and its all I've really done. I have scholarship offers from 2 other division 1 schools but I sort of just want to Fuck it all and go to the University of Utah. I really don't know what to do, and since this is a skiing site I guess most of you will say Utah, but can I please have some honest opinions on what you would do?

dude it doesnt matter what people say, it depends on what YOU want to do. if playing baseball makes u happy do it but if you dont like it anymore than stop playing. ive played lacrosse my whole life and played like 75% of the time in games last year and this year i was just like fuck it and didnt play cus i didnt feel like it. dont worry about what ppl think just do what ever the hell makes u happy

^word.

ive played team sports all my life, and lately ive just been so over them. im gonna have to make a similar decision pretty soon with what kind of college i go to... but i think life is too short to spend doing something youre not crazy about.

as the guy above me said, dont worry what others say/think, do what YOU want

well basicaly u wont have time to ski during the winter at all cause divions 1 ncaa sports takes like all of your free time up..especialyl winter your just in the cages and training the whole time..so it depends if u really like baseball more than skiing and what you're future will hold for both

play baseball, go to the pros for 4 years and make a few million then retire and ski

a male gynocologist is like an auto machanic who doesnt own a car

I guess I'm also really scared, right now I would pick up and go to utah in a second. But I keep thinking what if it is the wrong thing, what if i should have stayed int he east and played baseball. I dunno it sucks

uhhh, how much are the scholarships for, cuz if they are a full ride you would be a fool to go to utah, skiing will make you poor as hell or for a lucky few somewhat wealthy, if you want an education take the scholarship and use the money for grad school. skiing is fun, and lord knows i love it, but realisticly there arnt many of us who can make a career out of it

176cm of freedom on my feet

I don't plan on making a career out of it, but I want to do something during college and I don't think I wanna play baseball anymore

he has a very good point...my sister got a scholarship to play division one soccer and she loves snowboarding but she choose the full scholarshiop and realized taht she didnt want to play soccer after college and then moved out to vail colorado to live there for a year and loved it...I think I would take the scholorship and see where your baseball takes you then you can always go back to skiing.

I moved from west virginia to Utah, Ive been to both universities. If you wanna get drunk, high and party like a rockstar untill your heart fails I suggest WVU, If you wanna ski your ass off, never get laid and find religion come to UU.

We pay our debt sometimes.

go to which ever school is better academically, and cheap. Cause when your 40 you want the $ to be able to go ski, and have a good life. You'll be thinking, shouldn't have been a ski bum in college.

Ski. Eat. Sex. Sleep. Ski. What else is there?

ya.. same thing with me and running.. ive got $ to run and vault but i dunno if i wanna... i wanna just chill and kinda not worry about it... its a tough decision..

go to utah and try walking on?

unless you go pro or something, your probably not going to play baseball when you get older. but you can always ski, right up to your last days..almost

bullshit, these are the times of our lives. When your 40 and you have a few extra 0's in the bank youll be like, "damn I wish I had time to go skiing". Besides WVU isnt accredited any better than UU. WVU has a reputation is a party school. Just because you goto a state university doesnt mean shit, it doesn't reflect on how much money you will make throughout your life. What does is your ingenunity and ambition. I wouldnt trade two of these years for 10 when I'm stuck at a job only to come home to a wife that cheats on me and kids that rob my wallet when I'm not looking

could you get a baseball scholarship out west ? you would not be able to ski as much but you could still do it somtimes.

sport scholarships are a double edged sword, on one hand you get a "free ride" on the other hand you can consider playing baseball work because the amount of hours they will be requiring of you, you might as well just be working and going to school

No question man play baseball. You can ski your whole life but how long can you play baseball for? D1 baseball big opportunity there. I'd say play ball.

from personal experience...i played softball forever and through highschool i played year round...i felt kind of burnt out from it (even though it was great) so i decided not to play in college. now i'm skiing a shitload and have become a much better skier and had a ton of fun while friends that played through college had fun but not nearly as much as they should have in college. if you play in college it definitely becomes your life. school, studying, baseball, traveling....thats what it will be.
