Life changing moments

Life is made from experiences--to live is to learn.

sometimes "shit-luck" seems like too much, some experiences make you feel like something or someone is looking over you.

I want to know some moments that have changed THREAD's lives forever

( IE-- things that made your belief in God stronger )

OP's life changing moments:

flipping car off road, landing safely betweeen trees woke up unharmed, little damage to car

hitting a deer at 80mph and it didnt go through windshield

Getting arrested for helping buddy during drunken brawl and the seatbelt preventing a cop car door from shutting completely, thus allowed me to run away safely

Sliding on ice downhill towards head on 18 wheeler, narrowly avoiding crash

That's crazy. But this is fucking stupid if they have to be moments that make you believe in god. Why not moments that make you appreciate life? religious or not?

what really changed my life was when the cheese monster fell through my roof one night and gave me free cheese for life.

When I stuck my finger up my ass for the first time

When I started to basically live alone because parents are often away

Finding out my dad has been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer hit hard.

Also, studying anatomy just constantly reinforces the idea of God's existence for me.

And it's like even in those times that you just don't make it through or u do get caught by the cops or whatever, it doesn't mean that people should think there's like less of God because of that u kno

Fatal car crashes, going to Uganda, passing out continuously from weed at a blue scholars concert and coming back to consciousness in time to see my favorite song with a calm relaxed high. Going to college of course. Also all the breaks and tears to my body have made me more smart in skiing and all other things.

OP seems to be confused regarding the differences between an adrenaline rush and a "life-changing moment."

In the even that OP is actually for real, and running away from the cops and getting into several car crashes are truly life altering experiences for him, well...hahahahaha.

Uhm, not exactly sure if something like a deer not going through a windshield after hitting it at 80 mph is due to an adrenaline rush....

It could just be me though

How is getting into nearly fatal/catastrophic situations not life changing? Don't even tell me if you flipped your car over and landed unscathed you wouldn't appreciate life and everything about it a little more.

Haha yup. Hit the nail RIGHT on the head.

Way to be open minded and really further the cause of your beliefs, or lack thereof.

I realize that since I'm replying to AR6rider, I will be ripped apart, but whatever, just the internet, right?

To me (and I preface this post with that because I realize I am talking to AR6rider), seeing the way all things in the body work so seamlessly and intricately boggles me. To see and understand the way that organs work together and individually, cells constantly regenerating to meet the needs of the body, and the constant flow of the body in general to maintain homeostasis, fight of illnesses and even just maintain life, is astounding to me.

I (again, my personal belief) cannot accept that over any amount of time such an efficient, amazing life from could generate from a lesser being.

Great...we're dealing with someone who doesn't believe in evolution, but believes in a mystical, bearded fairy-man/possible unicorn who is all-powerful and created everything. Fucking outstanding. Put down the bible for a sec and pick up a textbook, bud.

Wow! Your anonomous post on the internet changed my life view! I'll be sure to start reading my textbooks again, sir!

Just in the same way you ask for my beliefs not to be shoved down your throat, I ask for you not to shove your beliefs down my throat. Tolerance is a two way street.

Want to know the great thing about evolution, though? It doesn't matter if some bible-humping Jesus freak believes in it. It's still real!

You should think the exact opposite. If some all knowing being made us how come we arent perfect? We are a pieced together system thats been figuring it it out for 100s of millions of years. If God made us why didnt he make us perfect? Why am I sick right now? Thats some shotty craftsmanship on his part if you ask me

If i had the ability to create a species of followers i would make em perfect

So you believe because the human body is so intricate, it is created by God, who is all-knowing and all-powerful. So if God had the ability to create us, why the fuck would he make us so complicated?

I like how you guys complain about people shoving their religions down your throat while you doing the same thing to this fellow, just because he believes in god (as I do) doesn't mean you have to try to prove to him hes wrong. we all have our own beliefs.

I don't give a fuck if he believes in god. The fact that he doesn't believe in the theory of evolution is mind-bogglingly stupid.

Evolution has an incredible amount of hard evidence going for it while divine creation has literally no evidence proving it.

Calling the bible or any sacred text "proof" is laughably stupid. Calling centuries worth of discoveries of bones and such proof is not so stupid.
