Life after death

maybe life is just a training center for a complex world that we will go to when we die..and everything that happens to you in life is a metaphore for something else

It would be cool to be re incarnated. mabye into someone and you know your mistakes and can do better in life

this is the biggest waste of time question ever, what do you thinks gonna happen after you die, why dont you go stick some scissors in a electrical socket and find out

i agree, but i dont think its going to happen

personally, i think that once your dead, your dead. no more life, no more thinking, ur just dead and no more life.

what if god was just a metaphor for the whole universe and that every thing in it is just part of god?

reincarnation + karma, so if your having a shitty life now, chances are that you were an asshole last time, but you can still repair your karma, so it gets better, and then you will have good karma next time.

or there are those people who think that this right here is hell because so much bad shit happens.

also if there's no life after death the best you can do is be remembered, that probably part of what the pyramids are for the kings that are in there are still existing in some sense because their still remembered.

I acknowledge that there could be an afterlife. Though I don't dwell on it much. I concern myself more with things I actually have control over...i.e. my own life.

There has to be an after-life, we can't just be wiped from existance and never do anything... ever.

fuckin deep stuff to think about though. well die and then poof thats it. we wont feel dead, we wont be bored or go to heaven in my mind or anything we just wont exist. maddddd hard to understand. i hope thats not the end of it cause lifes too short. especially if you die young. man i dont wanna die young, once ur old W/e you cant really do shit anyways and ur not missin that much more, but can u guys imagine dying tommo? and that what we have done is it? cause 1000s of people our age will die tommo, i just hope its not any of us

I think you lie in a dream like state unable to wake. if you think about it, a second in waking life seems so short and in that time you can have such a long drawn out detailed dream that doesn't seem to end at all. So how would you live out the many seconds you have before the death of your body and the death of your mind. that is where heaven and hell come in. if your mind is in control during these long dreaming life moments, aren't you really the one decides what life after death you live?

hey! i have an idea...someone go and kill themselfs and somehow get on to a computer and tell us what happened when you died. ok?

Im just going to live my life to the fucking max. I dont want to be lying helpless on my deathbed hoping for the best, knowing that I wasted my life and need more time.

waking life right? the bedroom scene where she talks about how 8 hours of sleep can feel like 8 minutes of dreaming? so if there is like 10 minutes of brain activity or dream after death then how long does that last for in reality? alot of it has to do with the release of dimethyltryptamine which our bodies naturally create and release upon death. this drug can also be extracted from some barks of trees and when people take this drug they talk of near death experiences such as seeing a light.

i just read an amazing novel about death, basically the writer looked closely at every religion from the incas to Jehovah's witnesses, and he gathered the similarities and ended up with a concept that is pretty cool about life after death...

here's a basic resume:

after you die, your ectoplasm goes upwards, attached to a string from his belly button, and once he's definately dead, the string cuts, so he's free to "fly" towards a huge, blue spiral.

after entering the spiral, he goes into several "rooms" in which he feels different emotions, like there's a room where all your fears come to haunt you, there's one where all your sexual desires become true, there's one where you wait for thousands of years, for teaching patience, there's one where every question is answered, etc etc

after these rooms, the dead people go into what could be called as the paradise, and they wait in line, until some angels come to them and they get evaluated for their life. every good action adds points, and every bad actions takes off points, and if you dont get a certain amount of points you get reincarned. sometimes it takes thousands of reincarnations to get the amount of points to stop the circle of reincarnations, and finally become an angel, wehre the main goal is to guide humans through good actions.

i think it make a lot of sense, and i am pretty sure i have described it very poorly, so maybe it doesnt for you, but if you can read french, i strongly suggest you the book "Les Thanatonautes" by Bernard Werber.

the title of this thread is the biggest oxymoron ever. death is defined as the end of life. so there is no life after death, no matter how much you want to believe it. i believe that is why people turn to religion, so that they can blindly continue to ignore this wonderful life they have been given and live it as if they only have one. they cant handle it.

i believe tht there is no time before or after life. you live for eternity. Like nothing happens befoer you are born right. Like if you think about it, time started when you first remmebr it. and time will stop when you last remmebr it. We each have already not been alive (before we where born) and it will feel like tht when we die, nothing

i think either two things, first one would be you just stop. everything is just done no thinking or anything, but i also think maybe that being a human is like your first form and then once yuo die your soul or whatever goes into an animal, and thats why we cant understand what animals say, because if so they would tell you about what they did when they were a human and stuff, and the cycle keeps going on with different species when you die and each one cant understand onther speices languages so only you can know what you did in your past lives and yeah... maybe that makes sence but i dunno

I could have sworn that I responded to this thread when it was originally created....guess not though. He's the short version of what I think.

When you die, you're done. No afterlife, heaven/hell, reincarnation, nothing. We, like many other animals on the planet, are mammals with a finite life span.

It is only because we are cognizant of our own death that we try to create something to comfort us when it arrives....as it is the great unknown....

So yeah, basically, when you die you become worm food. You have lived your life cycle just like other mammals on the planet, and that's all you get. Enjoy it while you can.
