So im getting my license today... anyway thread about when you got your license, how pumped you were, what car you had, and any other interesting stories about it
 
The first time i went I did great on the driving part and failed, but when i went back i drove kinda shitty and got a 100 sooooooooooo
 
I just barely took the test. I drove really shittily because i was nervous, hit the curb, didn't check blind spots, and forgot my blinker a few times. Still passed.
 
1st time I passed with no points off. Pretty stoked, actually I felt awesome. Just don't drive like a kid who "knows everything I own shut up"
 
My instructor talked to me about skiing the whole time, and he was wearing a Hawaiian button-up shirt. I passed the first time. Just stay relaxed.
 
I got my licence as soon as I was able to which was 16. My first car that I drove was a honda odessy (big mini-van) and I remember I would go out for a spin for almost any reason. Just packed the car up with all my friends and just cruised around with music blasting, no destinations. Good time for sure, get excited.
Just don't be that guy that always gives people lifts, because it sucks.
 
I was 17, had a jeep wrangler. Still can't top the feeling of pulling out of my driveway with the top and doors off and cruising around with my friends. These days, most of my driving consists of sitting in stop and go on my way to/from work.
 
the guy who issued my driving test didn't speak fucking english hardly so I had no idea what he was telling me to do.

So easy to pass.

First time I was out on my own I ripped out 90MpH in a Mini Van on a back road, haha. Good times.

 
I failed my first time - took the test in a standard and at that point in time, really didnt know what I was doing.. so I focused more on shifting and not my driving.

second time the passed without any flaws/whatever.
 
almost didn't get my g2 the first try for not signaling out of a parallel park, and not observing well enough at stops. But then I did, so it didn't matter.

Then I almost lost it a month later for letting my 15 year old friend pull me around a snowy parking lot on skis at night. luckily the po-9 was really friendly and thought it was funny, so me and my friends got off the hook like 99%. he did call my mom though and she thought it was funny too.

then I almost lost it on saturday night because my friends and I went on a huge egging spree all over the town. cop rolls up behind us, turns on the lights so I pull over, popo rolls on by. i pooped a little.
 
i just got it yesterday. stoked. but the guy i was with didnt say a word to me except where to turn it was creepy as fuckkk
 
They messed up on one of my friend's license. The birthdate is somehow 3 years off making him now 23 when he is really 20.
 
He called in and told them about it but they never made him change it. I guess the people at the dmv are just that lazy that they dont care hahaha.

took the test in my moms car. would have aced it but I lost points for putting it in neutral at a light (like you should). The second test I took I also took in my moms car. I aced that one. My first car was an 83 celica. It was not up to the testing standards haha.
 
I got mine 10 days after I turned 16. I was ready to go, had everything down to a T and to make it even better I took my test on a rainy day so I could go anywhere that was 10 under the speed limit and pass with flying colors. I remember pulling into the parking spot at the DMV and hearing, "congratulations, you missed none" and walking into the DMV with the biggest grin on my face.
 
so i passed!! it was really easy even though i was kinda nervous but passed it easily. and during some kid went running right infront of me so i had to slam the brakes but since it wasnt my fault and i reacted good to it aka didnt kill the kid the lady didnt fail me. another story, i was learning how to drive me gti which is stick and going up and down my road fine only stalled 3 times, and they were all at once... but i stopped at the top of the hill and i was talking to my neighbor and my car was idling and all of the sudden just starts smoking and leaking anti freeze or coolant or something-____- needless to say quite pissed but all that happend was a clamp came loose so it could have been a lot worse expecially since i was about to drive over to my friends house and it woulda sucked to get stranded really far from my house.
 
One of my friends is 20 almost 21 and stil doesn't have his permit. It's annoying as hell because he just asks us for rides everywhere and doesn't offer a dime for gas...
 
My instructor was an obese 300 lb black woman her meat curtains were LITERALLY on the center console. Every 30 seconds she would grab her big gulp and sip so loudly... Her breathing pattern was disrupting and off beat. She was choking on her self. Luckily she was nice and I passed. I will never forget "Precious". datass.
 
I had to wait a few months to do the test because my thumbs were broken at the time. There was a construction zone and I panicked during the test but I just passed. Then I got an awesome Subaru Legacy that I kept for a bit and then crashed it twice in the same month. First time I did an unnaty 450 in a snowbank and me and my car were fine, the second time I couldn't see shit out of my windows, ran a red light and smashed into a truck and totaled my car. Now I take the bus haha
 
My guy was super laid back. The only thing I got marked off for was not putting my hand back on the steering wheel after shifting gears, which is bullshit haha. Guy told me I drove stick better than he did and asked me when I learned. I told him when I was 13. He gave me a disapproving look, then told me I passed with flying colors. Went with my dad over the Secretary of State office, got my license in like 15 minutes, and started being even more awesome that I previously was.
 
it ook me 4 times cos of the stupid english ridiculously hard test. still shit to get on 4th go though. was soooo pumped when i got it though.
 
I filed my first time (getting my N) with a 100% but my nerves got the best of me and i autofailed on leaving the parking lot... Once you get over nerves the test is actually really easy. My full licence I passed with one demerit for stopping on the white line of a stop sign, rather than before it (The instructor said she hates giving perfect so I suppose that is pretty good) The biggest thing to do is just relax
