Liberals vs Conservatives

Uh yeah OP no where in The Bible does it explicitly state that homosexuality is a sin.

1 Corinthians 6:9

Or know ye not that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not led astray. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate men, nor homosexuals

I disagree. His troll words, to response words ratio is far too low. To be a great troll, you must say and put in as little effort as possible while inducing the largest scale response as possible.

the great ones say one sentence, and are then inundated with 5 paragraph long responses that have links to scholarly journals... and then repeat this cycle over and over again. See my troll job of masshole a few pages back for an example.

He puts in a good deal of effort into his posts. he'll learn though. he's off to a great start.

new theory for measuring a troll's success level:

take the number of times SJW posts in the thread, double it, square it, divide it by 7, and multiply it by 3

in this case, this troll's level is over 9000

Yep. I was riled up, no doubt about that. I realized after all of that and just smiled and laughed. A+ job on it.

I was most rustled because I have been watching Fox News with my grandparents a lot lately and have realized that people like this actually exist in large numbers and can vote on issues hahaha

For further proof in Richmond Va there is a set of identical twins. one of them is gay and the other is not. identical twins have the exact same genes so this proves that homosexuality is not genetic. If sexuality is genetic then both would be gay and vice versa.

hahaha oh man... I almost don't hold you accountable for anything you're saying because you're young and just spewing the bullshit you were taught. Think for yourself man. Look past the headlines and read the results. Your own article disputes what you're saying.

From the article: "LGBTQ Nation pointed out this interpretation of the 2000 study has been disputed by the study's main researcher."

You're using an article about a bias group with half ass studies. It is laughable at best

I know youre a troll and all but this is gonna be too much fun putting parts of the bible against your own referances. I live showing people how much hypocrisy is in the bible. Plus copy and pasting isnt too hard. First, your quote doesnt say homksexuality is a sin, so you lose.

"Love Thy Neighbor", it means love everyone, including those who are gay and those who are black, and white, and racist, and hateful (Yes, including Conservatives). So yes i still love you OP, but not in the way you love me or other men ;)

the bible specifically says "Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."" , much like the golden rule, if you say being a homosexual is a sin then you to will be judged by others.

Ill let you respond and we can go from there

You know that there is a difference between "freedom of belief" and "freedom of practice," right? The first amendment disallows the governments from persecuting individuals for believing, preaching, and trying to spread their religion. However, the right to freely exercise your religion is not always granted. Take, for example, the Mormons of the United States. Do you have a problem with a fact that polygamy is still illegal in the US, despite the fact that it is a large part of exercising Mormonism? Just because one's actions are motivated by religion does not mean that they can do whatever they want. If you are an advocate for such religious freedoms, then you must be an advocate for ALL religious freedoms, i.e, human sacrifice, polygamy, etc. You lose your right to practice your religion freely when it infringes upon the rights of others.

OP, still waiting for a reply to this

Seeing a different viewpoint for us, would be to take a massive leap of faith, believing that our fellow man deserves less than us because of his sexuality, that the big bang and science is wrong, and that we have wonderful eternal life for ourselves as long as we dont stick our dicks in the wrong places.

That is a leap of faith, that not only do I not wish to take, but I have taken the opposite. Growing up in Catholic school for 11 years, I saw and believed the other side, and I dont find it convincing or appealing in any form. I shall live a good life, and respect my fellow man, putting the dignity of human life on the highest level, because in all reality, this short time on earth is all we got.

Why do you think it is okay to disallow gay people from having equal rights? Simple question. Why do you believe it is right and just to discriminate? Scripture is not an answer because you don't believe in everything the old testament says...do you also believe that masturbators should not have equal rights?

Before not marriage has never been a right if I ask a girl to marry me and she says "no" now is she discriminating against me. Before now marriage has always been under contract law. Marriage has always been a prevlidge and never been a "right" until last Friday.

A lie, even though it makes you feel better, is always a lie. I would rather my dog ran off to a farm and is living there happily now, but I know he is dead. It might not make you feel better, but the truth is the truth.

No amount of personal satisfaction makes anything true. When people say "true to me" what they are saying is "I've convinced myself of something that makes no sense but I feel better because of it"

When you die, your body decomposes over time, you have no soul, be thankful you are here now. Live like you don't get a second chance, news flash, you don't.

Wait, do you think gay people dont have the right to say no? If a guy asks a guy to marry him, he HAS to say yes?

Sorry bud, flat liners have massive hallucinations, when I have a dream with dinosaurs chasing me in it, it does not mean that there is a place out there filled with dinosaurs trying to catch my car on the interstate. "I saw the light" more likely you had a near death experience, and rightfully so, you freaked the fuck out.

Well since now marriage is now a "right" not a contract between two people. Until now marriage has always fallen under the category of contract law. The government has no business being in marriage wether it is homosexual or heterosexual. Marriage is nothing more then a contract between two people.

Being able to use the same bathrooms or water fountains or schools or busses wasn't a right until people realized that segregation was bullshit. Kinda like homophobic laws.

OP, I assume you are for outlawing condoms and birth control, porn, along with alcohol not used in communion? Yes? The bible is strictly against all of it. Where is your outrage that those are legal?

It just sucks that certain types of folks cherry pick bible verses... The ones that suit their hateful agenda. The bible is a great book and a great moral compass, but bigots and their lemmings all too often popularize bastardized interpretations that are just plain hateful.

The definition of marriage and the legal repercussions of getting married are no different now than they were before this ruling, just a change of some pronouns. You cant actually believe what you just said? Like seriously.

if the state decides that banning gay marriage is unconstitutional, and the church grants marriage licenses under that state, then the church has to play by the states rules. it's not that hard to see man.

a church could refuse to marry gay people, but it would only be a marriage under the eyes of God, and not the state. there is nothing preventing churches from doing that - but oh wait, then people would still want their government benefits from marriage. well guess what, that's exactly why gay people want their marriage to be recognized under the state as well.

if you want to keep the "sanctity of marriage" alive, which apparently is sooo important to all you religious bigots, then get married in a church and without a state license. suddenly, you'll know what it was like to have been gay in state where gay marriage was illegal.

and it makes total fucking sense through the lens of separation of the church and the state. if somebody gets benefits through the government for a marriage done by a church, it doesn't matter that the marriage was done in a church. what matters is, those benefits from the state are available to straight people, and not to gay people. that would be discrimination by the state towards gays.

Don't you remember what was brought up yesterday? It is thought that the people who think being gay is a choice are gay themselves but feel repulsed by gay actions because that reaction was taught to them.

A little more reflection is needed...

For roughly 1800 years, philosophers and theologians tried to prove God's and the soul's existence. The ultimate conclusion that started the "modern era of thought" is that you can't. Actual knowledge (the scientific type that is proven and cannot be disproven) about God, the soul, afterlife, etc is impossible. This is why it is now called Faith, not Knowledge.

Religious people have faith, and they all seek knowledge and understanding of it. Scientific people have understanding, and they (sometimes) seek faith/belief in it.

A huge problem occurs when you confuse or blend the two. No one doubts that people experienced something when they flatlined, but to draw the conclusion that it proves the afterlife exists is a huge, unproveable conclusion. So many things (including the high probability of hallucination through lack of oxygen to the brain) explain the experience. Some are more plausible than others and the least plausible contain the highest amount of faith.

There is nothing wrong with faith, as long as you keep it in its place and do not confuse it with knowledge and understanding.

Dmt is proven to release in massive quantities the moments before death (or the body thinking its dying) hence all the visions. When you see "god" or "jesus" you are essentially tripping your ballz off.
