i hear something about lib tech owning armada, or starting it back in the day. i couldnt find any info online about it and was wondering if anyone knew armada's and lib tech's history together?

thanks

i dont think so, not sure entirely, but they were started by a bunch of pros (tanner, jp, julien, etc.) like everyone knows. their office is in cali and they're skis are made in europe (ive heard different rumors about exactly which company manufactures them). but it wouldn't really make sense though, because mervin (lib tech) builds their stuff in like north-eastern washington or something... too lazy to go to theyre site and see exactly, but its in that general area (westish, north US). but who knows, some of these corporate ownership things are way more complicated than will ever be known. look at a group like the one that K2 is involved with at some level, crazy stuff.

Close..

It was started by JP, JF, Julien, and they added Tanner Hall when they started the team. They get supplemental funds from Oakley (hence why most of their riders wear Oakley Goggles, and outerwear)

Their office is in Costa Mesa, California.

Their skis are currently made in Austria at the Atomic Factory from what I understand... They used to be made at the Elan factory prior to 2006.

Libtech is not actually made "In the USA, Near Canada" anymore, seeing that Mervin Industries is run by the Rossignol Group, which is owned and run by Quicksilver (started out of the Rip Curl factory in Torquay, Aus - 1970), coincidently also Headquartered in Southern California - Huntington Beach. Since they closed the factory in France, All of Libtech, D.C., Gnu, Roxy, and Rossignol snowboards are made in the Rossignol factory in Spain. This also goes for Libtech's NAS series skis. All Rossignol/Dynastar/Roxy skis that are over 140 or so in length (basically all adult models) are made in the Spanish factory now.

Its all super confusing... I dont get why these companies have to close and move their factories all the time...

Thank's K2.. for fuckin everything up and moving from Vashon Is. to China...

Hey DingoSean. Whats the name of the company that owns K2 now? I know its a company that has nothing to do with skiing but can't remember their name

K2 is owned now by Jarden Corp. which is the parent company for Coleman and Marmot. They also own some fishing company which k2 uses for their pole technologies.

As far as Armada they as previously mentioned are not owned by Lib Tech or have any real affiliation but when speaking with a Armada rep he said that Armada still makes skis in both the Atomic factory and the Elan factory. All their sidewall construction skis are in the Atomic factory and Elan makes the cap construction skis like the el ray.
