Lib tech skis

if they keep making them, theyll be the sickest things ever.

theyre heavy, but magna is so hot you can make grilled cheese on em.

super awesome!

the thing about libtechs is that they can still slice a nice edge for lip carves and pipe even if u detune the shit out them for rollerblading. The only thing libtech fucked up on was putting mike wilson in charge of their team.

No one has really answered his question and i am also curious to how the skis are as an all mountain backcountry ski.

Well, I can tell you that they are INSANELY expensive. At $500 to $600 each (sold singly) that makes over $1000 a pair. Magetraction is sweet though, killer edge control. On NS there have been some complaints about the flex pattern, but that was on the 1st gens.

no way man, they are like 300 or less each. about 500-600 a pair retail, which is the same as most skis out there.

they kick ass for all-mountain. and would be dope for the BC. if they were made lighter, they'd be the balls for everything.

I'm going to have to call "gimmick" on the whole serrated edge (magnetraction) concept. Although to be fair, I've never tried it.

I think that if it really offered superior edge hold and control, then you would see something like it being used by World Cup ski racers.

Edging performance is the most important aspect of ski racing, so I would consider their equipment as the standard when talking about edge hold and control.

Just a theory...

All I mean is that if a multi-million dollar industry devoted to edge hold (ski racing), doesn't use this system, then it probably isn't the best one out there.

And I know they use it on their snowboards, but I doubt that any of the bordercross or alpine racers, for whom edge hold is paramount, use magnetraction boards.

All I'm saying is that I would consider race equipment to be pretty much the ultimate standard in the "edge holding" department.

So if someone was to really design something that truly offered "superior edge hold" then I would expect that racers would use it.

they are saying that it holds on well even WHEN DETUNED so you dont catch an edge on a rail. go detune a race ski a see if it still holds on to the ice. it is sure at 102990878034652930879 % that they dont hold on as good as world cup skis when both are tuned

Well, that is interesting, and a good point. If they really do work well when detuned, then maybe the design has it's benefits.

All I know is that travis rice uses magna traction or what ever and so it must be sick, becuase he is sicker then any pro skier out there.

the thing is, racers dont have to worry about detuning their edges for rails. obviously a razor sharp edge is going to have the best hold. but the advantage is being able to detune for rails, and still have reasonable edge hold underfoot.

not in a turn... having differant angles would alow for more 'Bite when you turn.. instead of inatiating your turn with just th 5 inches from the tip down,.... it is like evey 2 inches for an inch... i bet its weird at first but then its like cutting butter with a hot knifes

exactly . . . i'll bet there's a speed trade off, and you can't tell me edge hold is more important than speed in racing.

i thought they were wavey.. which would mean there is less contact points.. which would mean les friction... which would mean faster

yea foo foo foo foo foo foo sessions u just suck my balls my big hairy monkey balls

hahahhaha

seya thi weekeknd kid

`OH YEA IM A MONkEY!!

my theory on how it works: wobly so less surface contact. therefore more pressure where it touches the snow so goes deeper in it

exactly, also ive heard its kinda slow. doesnt really matter for us but its the only thing they are really worried about

ok so my two cents on the whole thing....i think that obviosly they can get a better edge on a race ski, and also, race skis are made for turning as well, not just holding edges.

but the whole thing with the magne is that as the edges dull, they can still hold on ice and stuff. so maybe they arnt the greatest, but compaired to a dull edge on a regular ski, the magne traction ski will hold better

i herd they are more for icy conditoins, because of the jagged edges, they looked allright though, but i dont think they will sell to good until they get some pro riders for them.

nah i meant i like their skis snowboards and skateboards, i feel the same way about ninthward, and i dont really know what you were getting at but whatever. theyre both dank

you can buy them from zumiez i think, at leas you can order them out of a catolouge at the one in my town.
