I work in a store now so all the discounts come in. we carry lib-tech snowboards and we might start carrying some skis. I really like that they are trying there own things. they have mike wilson as there team manager and he is mike wilson 'nuff said. Has anybody ridden them? If so what do you guys think? I used searchbar and checked reviews but none really have what i am looking for.

I heard they ski great, only tips scoop a bunch so they feel a bit shorter than they really are. So maybe thing about getting them in a size longer than you'd regularly buy in.

i rode them for 2 days and found them suuuper stiff ! they were fun but i wouldnt buy them ...i wasnt a fan of the magna traction either.

I've heard mixed reviews about the magna-traction. Seems more necessary for park skis where the edges underfoot get demolished. For a pow ski, I wouldn't want it.

doesnt seem too necessary for the regular camber skis, but I'd definitely like to try it on their new rockered/banana ski

Praxis is "trying their won things" to.
but my friend tried one, and he said the cerrated edges carves really well (snowboard) Its a pretty interesting company

i havent ridden them but i heard that a lot of shops will sharpen the edges like a normal ski and that is what makes the ski catch. really they need to be de-tunned so you can just let the shape work for you, instead of the actual edge.

Magnetraction is good if you know how to ski, if you don't know how to turn properly (e.g. carve a real GS turn) and skid all your turns you are going to hate it since it will feel hooky.

its a love em or hate em sorta thing ive never ridden them but from all the ppl ive talked to ive heard either raving or terrible reviews no one was in the middle, id demo a pair first

i ride lib tech skis...and i will never ride anything else. They are very light and the magne traction holds better than a race ski, not exaggerating. They are a perfect ski for me since i like to ride some all mountain along with park and i like a stiff ski. This is a perfect east coast ski. Its not great in powder since it is not the fattest ski in the world and it has low tips (found that kinda odd). The magne traction is amazing, i spent 3 days at killington when it rained during the day and froze overnight so it was all ice.....everyone i was with was bitching about the conditions i was having the time of my life since my skis were great in ice. These are also amazing carving skis. since you have those multiple points of contact on the snow you can lean so far into your turns without sliding at all. When i bought these i was on the edge about it since i thought that the edges might catch on boxes and rails because they are so wavy but i was wrong....i have never caught on a box or rail and i have never de-tuned my edges. If you live in the east and will not ski waist deep pow everday and you like a stiff ski these are the ski for you. The only downside to these skis is the topsheets chip kinda easily but thats not a big problem. I assume that lib tech has toughened up the topsheets this year. I have the 07 striped man NAS. If you have any questions about lib's skis just shoot me a pm

Also, as said above, to get the effect of the magne-traction you need to carve...not like just slow turning...but if you carve its AMAZING
