LIABILITY

Are ski resorts liable if you are hurt in a in-bounds avy?

* Always stay in control.

* People ahead of you have the right of way.

* Stop in a safe place for you and others.

* Whenever starting downhill or merging, look uphill and yield.

* Use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.

* Observe signs and warnings, and keep off closed trails.

* Know how to use the lifts safely.

KNOW THE CODE. IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

This is a partial list. Be safety conscious.

normally no, but it depends how u get hurt....when u buy a ticket most resorts have a contract on the back.

when i got hurt it wasnt my fault. my hill is to lazy to groom and left huge ass bumps in the middle of the hill(they left em there the entire week and 40 people were taken down on that run) and when i was crusin down i hit one and flew like 150 ft and kept hittin the bumps. there wasnt any signs up or anything. were lookin in to sueing but idk thats for my parents to decide

Irotate360, I hope you do sue and win and that causes the mtn to shut down.

Then there will be a whoooole bunch of people who know what fuck-ups you and your parents are.

Sounds like you're a shitty skier that was staring at his tips and hit a bump. Boo-frickety hoo. It's your fault. Live with it.

People like you are part of the reason lift tickets cost so much, because resorts have to pay such ridiculously expensive liability insurance each year. Fuck you.

i'm pretty sure one of the things stated when you buy a ticket is that you should be alert for man made and natural obstacles. no way they should be liable for bumps or ice or anything like that. An in bounds avalanche seems different though. Ski patrol is supposed to check snow conditions and do av. control before the trail is opened I thought.

All I have to say is thank you Spokaneskier for educating us with the skiers responsibility cold in your signature. I feel much safer now.

um, what the fuck, the guy who hurt himself on bumps is definitly right insaying its the hills fault... I hate it when there is a groomed run, and im going fast and then there is something that isnt visible like bumps in the ground and you hit them and fly. FOr example, at kinkcing horse last year, near the bottom, me and my friend are cruising down to the lift after the pow and all of a sudden I go flying off this 6 foot drop and land hard in a pit on an uphill. My face slammed into the ground and before i could yell to my friend to stop, the same thing happened to him. THis drop was biiiig and it was completely unvisible till it was too late, a few other people fell on it that day and then they set up markers to signal for people to stear clear, but that kind of thing is annoying, at least they did put up markers in the end.

^ that means you were going too fast for the trail

If you have a 1380 SAT and a 86.71 GPA... what does everyone say? Not good job, not 'O wow, thats awesome!' No, they say things like 'You are an underachiever'

ok. when you go skiing you are taking a risk, no matter what run or jumo it is. some people are just too dense to realise that and they think that they are god and then when they et hurt they cry and decide to sue. this happens not only at the ski hill but in other life too. its really gay

i agree that if you hurt yourself on terrain that you can't handle its your own fault. but something like an in-bound avalanche or the chair falling off the cable is totally due to the hill's negligence.

there are risks involved in skiing. nobody is forcing you to go to the hill. if you cant hack sliding snow or a few bumps, do the world a favor and stay the fuck at home you sniveling whiney bitches. you're a disgrace. take up a shit ass hobby like knitting or birdwatching, where no bumps or avalanches can get you. its skiing, not 'get rich quick cuz you're a fuck-ass.'

'Dude, check out this nasty gouge.'

im just gonna sling crystal meth so i dont have to get a real job and can afford to ski, with the way my senior year is goin though thats probably one of my few options
