LGBT Athletes in Sochi

Do you think somebody will tell something about gays on the olimpics? When you re discussing about this post i ll remember you a couple of things:1)Vitaly Milonov is an idiot

2)Vitaly Milonov doesn t participate in ANY part of the olympics.

Any questions?

Nobody enforcing any countries and teaching them how to live, it is not the primary russian target)

At no point did i retract my statement that it is fucked up to generalize all russians as a group. im not sure if you are autisitic or just illiterate, but you keep dropping the same numbers like it means something.

I'd rather be in a country that was openly homophobic than a country like the U.S. that is all-smiles but robs your rights behind your back. I'm not saying Russia didn't and doesn't do both, because Russia is one of the most guilty of offenders when it comes to imprisoning political enemies. However the U.S. is turning into Russia. Worst thing is, the government welcomes equality, contraception and universal health care to get half of the people in their pocket and earn their trust, just so they can stab you in the back when you're not looking

The people I hate most aren't the dicks who tell it to your face straight when they have an issue with you, the worst are the people who are all smiles in your face until next thing you know, you're in a world of shit when they stab you in the back and you never saw it coming. That is the new United States. At least people aren't ignorant in Russia in knowing that the government is after them if they do the wrong thing

As i have stated before, don't support the olympics because of Russia's stance on homosexuality dont watch it, but dont ruin it for the other majority of people who blatantly dont give a rats ass about some laws that are discriminatory.

and if the athletes dont want to compete, well fine but give it to the next person who will do most of anything to be able to compete.

Totally agree. There are sports like gymnastics where your age-window is so small that if your country were to boycott the olympics, it's not "oh well, next time", your window is gone. These athletes spend too much commitment for that. My roommates are training for the 2018 olympics, that's 5+ years of straight traning for one event. What if they did qualify, but couldn't go because our country decided they had an issue. Can you imagine all that commitment for such disappointment? Granted you should still enjoy the sport you're training in, but that's fucked up

Got an opinion? Russia doesn't care. That's how it is, and how it probably always is going to be. We tell Russia to give back Snowden? They say "phyuck yoo". Boycotting the games would probably just justify them if anything.

I get so PISSED OFF when I hear people talking about boycotting the 'games

World War 2 was against the countries(i mean just whole europe who was working for nazis, telling only bout germany is incorrect) who meanly attacked Russia. I don t think our grandfathers were fighting for LGBT rights=))

Goddamn your one stupid fucker.

"Oh, poor little rich Christina has spent 5 years of her sheltered life training for this event, so you shouldn't disappoint her, she's not used to that, and it will make her sad, and it's mean".

Jesus fucking christ, so if the issue was that Russia was persecuting another race, let's say Chechen's, then we should still just say nothing? Funny thing is, they are persecuting other races, including Chechen's. When is it alright to boycott the Olympics? I mean, what would Russia have to do in order for you to be willing to boycott the Olympics? Mess with Human Rights? Oh wait, they already did!

It's mind boggling how many spoiled little kids out there think it's alright to infringe on Human Rights, as long as their precious gymnasts get to go to the Olympics. I guess you didn't get the quote from Edmund Burke, but i'll leave it here for you to read.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing".

My issue isnt really with the russian anti gay laws. OK, thats a lie, it totally is, but my issue isn't completely that the laws exist themselves, I mean, look at the United States 40 years back, we had the exact same sentiment, eventually the culture will shift. The main issue and reason that I am trying to tell you how to live your life is that russia obtained a privelage. They are getting a platform to dictate their own bigoted laws. If they want to be a part of the modern western culture that the Olympics shows that you have, they can't be leaving 40 years in the past. They need to be up to date with the current social agenda of the rest of the modern world.

After your words i understand - you are an idiot who don t know what he tells. Please go to Chechnya and try to live there. Afterwards come back (try to do it in one piece please) and tell us more about persecuting chechens.

Ok, I can tell you a bunch about how Mother Russia absolutely butt fucked a wide array of countries, all in the name of the Motherland. Chechnya, Georgia, Afghanistan have all felt the wrath of the big bear when it needed an external enemy. Your country has always dominated others, and will continue to do so, including it's own citizens with these new anti-gay laws. Why do you think it's so unsafe in Chechnya? Because Russia absolutely fucked that place to bits, that's why! But I guess Mother Russia's propaganda machine works impeccably, cus you seem oblivious to these facts.

All in all you're pretty fucked, you should get the fuck out of there!

Transgender =/= transvestite.

Transgender means one who psychologically feels they are of another sex than they were born.

Unlike the USA Russia didn t fight offensive, it s always been defencive(except some wars between russia and asian countries). Whole bunch of territories was populated by natural way, with our explorers. At least the both of chechen wars was for some "freedom", and it was the money question from the other side.

Nowadays Russia sibsidizes this region and bunch of chechen guys lives here in Moscow, and behaves themselves like a barbarians(you can watch arabs in Germany for example it s pretty the same), and we even have a law 282(which means if i ll be beaten by chechen he ll go after 15 days of arrest and vice versa i am, the native russian(actually i m quarter Norvegian) will go to jail for 2 years), kinda against human rights isn t it?

And this is one of the main problems in here, so LGBT rights is pretty funny against that.

You just slipped into full retard mode with this post, it's so incoherent it's hard to actually grasp what it is that you're saying.

What do you mean by "watch Arabs in Germany"?

Wow, you really got yourself a credible source right there! I mean, you just totally made me hate everyone that is not exactly like me, just like you do!

You are so unbelievably misguided, it's really fucking hard to even fathom it! Keep living in your little propaganda world, it seems to work well for you,

I don't get why people feel it's right to push their gay agenda on a country that obviously is morally against it. for once, i'm siding with the russians here

So i see really intelligent(not just pretender) guy right here. Thank you!

Btw have smn ve seen Daily show? Us forces have allowed gays in army and there was 26 000 sexual harassment accidents there since that. IS it ok?

Yeah, there must be a correlation. Gays are just like animals and can't restrain themselves from being sexually attracted to and trying to seduce any man they come across.

Would not be surprised if it was just the homophobes in the army that got all upset that some gay guy was amongst them. There is quite a large chunk of the armed forces that are super conservative, super against gay marriage that were very upset and would totally make a stink about it.

The swedish high jumper Emma Green Tregaro was competing in Russia this weekend, and a few days before the finals she put up this image on her instagram, where she had painted her nails in rainbow colors.

the response from the pole vaulter Jelena Isenbajeva came after the pictures had spread and she condemned Green Tregaro for not respecting Russia's laws.

"we view ourselves as a normal people, where boys live with girls, and girls with boys. Never before have we had these problems in Russia and we do not want them in the future either", she said at a press conference in Moscow.

Green Tregaro's action, may it be something completely irrelevant as painting her fucking nails in different colors, sparked something big, and before the finals she had to remove her nail polish because the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) basically forced her to.

On the day of the finally, Green Tregaro instead competed with red nails, red as the color of love.

Just doing something small like that is still making a political stand, and I really hope more athletes stand up for the LGBT community during the Olympic games in Sochi.

I don't see why the host nation's laws should be a focal point for the Olympics. They could go to literally any country, and I could find a law worth protesting. But I'm not going to protest anything because I care about seeing the best athletes in the world compete, not the domestic affairs of a sovereign, foreign nation.

In truth, I hate the gay right's activists for making a big deal about this. Even as a somebody who ideologically supports their cause, I fucking hate everybody associated with it because they're all pretentious douchebags.

I'm really hoping there is more of this in the months to come. I mean, THAT'S how you fight tyranny IMO- with well placed girl-on-girl hotness. Nice work ladies.

Replace "gay" with "straight", "country" with "people" and "morally" with "naturally" in that first sentence and you're a little closer to reality here, but as you have stated it you're way off base.

Gays aren't pushing anything, they're just trying to BE. Gays aren't out beating up russians and jailling them for being straight ya friggin' nimrod. How you could have this twisted around in your mind can only be called mental gymnastics, and I can't decide whether it's sad or hilarious.

The Russians are the ones "pushing" their straight agenda here 100% and I mean that very literally literally, they're publicly beating gays while the police watch and laugh, then the cops are arresting the beat-up gays instead of the assaulters. It looks exactly like the race war in the American South in the 50s. It wasn't ok then and it's not ok now. You have every right to your faith and beliefs as they relate to you personally, and I would argue that gays should have that same freedom of expression when it comes to their sexuality. If you're morally against being gay, don't take a dick in the ass- it's really as simple as that- there's no reason to beat them and jail them unless you're terrified that you won't be able to contain your love of cocks once gays are being loud and proud all around you.

This is honestly the only rational attitude to take. I really believe that people that have the most issues with all of this are the ones that secretly question their sexuality. I can't accept that their are people so simpleminded as to believe that your kid can be gay brainwashed.

Where everyone is getting this idea that gay people are somehow proclaiming that being gay is superior to being straight is beyond me. Has it ever occurred to homophobes that if there was wider acceptance and tolerance towards homosexuality that gays wouldn't feel the need to "act out"? If everyone's attitude towards homosexuality was indifference and not giving a fuck—as it is towards basically anything and everything else that doesn't effect them personally, I don't think there'd be such an inclination to "rebel" and proclaim homosexuality as one's defining characteristic.

All this sanctimonious bullshit about damaging the fabric of marriage is fucking laughable. No, your porn addiction, annual trip to vegas, facebook stalking of your highschool ex, constant lying, emotional abuse and manipulation of your spouse, and out of control spending habits are damaging the sanctity of your marriage, not the strangers that decide to fuck one another in unconventional orifices.

Seriously, fuck anyone that is personally offended or threatened by homosexuality. This rhetoric that those who support gay marriage and equal rights are somehow being intolerant towards those that don't is the most intellectually dishonest argument I've ever heard.

On one hand, one group is saying "Let people live the lives that they want to live, it doesn't affect you personally, leave it be" and the other is saying, "Behave the way I want you to behave or else". There's no comparison whatsoever.

Boycott won't really work.

It's already clear that boycott of Sochi Olympics won't work because LGBT community is not consistent in its actions and too dependent from significant international events because they always use them as ground to display their views. If we imagine for a second that LGBT community achieved its goal and the Olympics got under boycott then they will have no space for provocations, so they just create the visibility of fighting while the true supporters and members of LGBT community do not use dirty tricks to prove something because there are a lot of legal ways to defend their rights and that's why gay athletes say they won't boycott the games because it makes absolutely no sense and will only harm the LGBT community. And somehow people forget about one very important thing - the anti-gay law in Russia is the law which specified to protect children from propaganda of same-sex relations while everyone try to present it like the law prohibits being gay. Far and by even gay activists do not consider boycott as the real thing.

Very much so.

Also I find it interesting that most opponents of an open gay culture believe homosexuality to be a choice... Now stop and think about that for a second. Why would they believe it to be a choice- to believe that simple statement as a fact- unless they themselves were making that choice thus making it a fact in their mind? Unless they personally have gay thoughts and desires and choose not to act on them, they would never believe homosexuality to be something that every person decides for themselves.

It's quite a telling position to take, and I for one find it hilarious when people throw that out there.
