YO! We did this a couple years back and it's something that always goes down in the Minnesota/ Wisconsin regionals and I wanted to bring it back to LG!

Post about your day of skiing! Whether it be a new trick you learned, you hit that cliff you've been eyeing, or anything else you're hyped on. Let this be a place to spread the stoke!!

After two seasons of snowboarding I found an amazing deal on ARWs ($350 with bindings brand new hell yeah) and getting back on skid. The stoke is very real.

I made the switch ages 3-11 skiing, switched to boarding till age 20 - now im back on skis and its one of the better choices i've made! The hype was fun while it lasted lol

i used poles 2day, and sent my first cliff of tha year. here is me after it, after i landed on a rock and skied away a bit.

Yeee get it

First day skiing the upper mtn this year, super wind buffed cream cheese. Fucking killing it, shredding like the boss I am and come out onto the groomer back to the base area and eat shit doing dad turns on the flat part. Bahaha whoopsie

I found this natural QPish hit at my hill today and worked my way up to ally oop 180s up to the flat and then 180 back down the tranny. Such a good feel! Never really sesh'd a natural hot like that!

It only took me 2 hours of hiking to get to the end of a 7 foot flat tube today. I am so bad at skiing hahahahaha.

who cares how long it took. You did it. That's so cool.

Just bought some Marker Griffons to put on my Coalition Abyss powder skis that my fam got me for Christmas. Super stoked to whip these babies out on Friday!

My friends and I built a little jump off a roof today and it was so much fun. I landed a couple tricks that I am genuinely stoked on and overall had so much fun with some new friends. Fuck I love skiing.

Landed my first 360 off the ~25ft gap on the first try after much stress on my part and pump up from the bf lol

Just smoked out my window and opening it wasn't too loud but holy fuck closing it... jesus fuck so loud. I hope I dont get caught hahahaha

Im at the point where I just want to stay at the mountain all day and my boyfriend has to convince me to finally call it quits and go home for the day

took some time but i managed to get down a switch lip on to the boxes yesterday. I also was too stoked in the morning and overshot just about every jump in the park so that was cool - and i managed to face plant off of one and idek how that happened. but i got some cool battle scars now

Hyped because I took 3 tricks that I've only done on side hits and did them on a real park jump today. Got 1s, 3s, and switch 1s. Two weeks ago I wouldn't even have done them on side hits. I've also never hit a park jump switch so that was interesting haha I don't know where the sudden balls came from but yay i guess hahaha.

THANKS!!! I'm actually really happy it was raining today - sticky rails are no bueno and everything was slushy so I figured it was a good time to try hitting jumps cause minimal consequences and shit. andddd I guess it worked out pretty dang well!!

Me too! Or do like half a rotation. I can never pop right when I take off switch. And I spin left and look over my right shoulder which doesn't help.

Ayyy I might be able to help.

So like skiing switch (correctly) your shoulders are pretty open already so that can make spinning 180 easy... but popping switch is definitely weird and for me I used to feel realllyyyyy unbalanced and would pre spin real bad.

I look over my right shoulder and spin right. When I start going up the jump, I close my shoulders/wind up kind of/throw my hands to the left. This puts you in a balanced position to pop and not die haha.

Side note: idk the "correct" way to take off switch. I know skiing switch your skis should be staggered but I pop with them not staggered and parallel. This might be the wrong way but it's how I do it lol

As you pop, throw your arms to the right(if u spin right) and open your shoulders back up and you will naturally spin back to forward. Your head is already looking at 180 so as long as you allow your shoulders to open back up it's really easy! The pop is really the hardest part.

I didn't do anything particularly radical on my skis today, but I did get to hang out with a porcupine and that's worthy of posting in here i think

Hahaha OMG Brooke I was literally talking about when I used to do this just the other day on a chair.

Can confirm - cannot spin left when you're looking over your right shoulder.

But I did 5 switch laps today and spun both ways normal 180 and switch 180.

Just tried again today. Fuckin figured out my issue I think. When I spin I spin to the left with 3s. And when I'm just trying switch 1s I'm trying to spin right which is why I'm feeling super awkward about it. I know it best to learn both but that's def where the Awk feeling is coming from. But I like to look over my right shoulder when skiing switch usually so yeah. All sorts of awkward. Will try spinning left now and report results later lol (lunch break rant)

I've been working on my switch 180's too. I still struggle with trying to throw the spin too early and smearing off the lip, I really want to get that under control before I decide to try it off some non tiny jumps.

I really like cat tracks for switch 1's because you can approach from the side and there is no knuckle to punish you if you go too small. Here's a gif of me:https://gfycat.com/HarmlessImpossibleBoilweevil The first is off a newbie jump on my good side (looking left spinning left). Second is off my bad side (looking right spinning right) but the right spin looks cleaner just cause that cat track is so much more friendly to hit than a real jump is.

If anyone has any more tips for switch 1's I'd love to hear them. Nice to see so many ladies making progress in here, post some more vids!

Yo I feel you. Last year I did a 180 on the hip part of a jump landing and then came back off it for a switch 1 and smeared, caught my edge and slammed to the flat. Delammed my skis and crushed my shoulder haha

I spent a bit of time solo yesterday working on switch riding and spins. I think just go and take some time and think about it. I just kept trying to send but if you find a gentle slope, concentrate and just wind and pop. Think about which way you want to spin and look that way. Blender is way too hard ha

Another good place is if you have a run that has a bunch of rollers on it - Spin left 180 then left side switch 180 then the same on the other side. I find doing it a bunch of times in a row helps. Like hiking a rail. I cant learn a new trick unless a hike a bit. Good luck!

Got front 2s, blind 2s and back surface swaps yesterday on a tube and it was fucking hype

Pretty stoked I can do blind 2s out of a down rail in my park. It's really thin and narrow, so a little scary to do tricks on...also spinning out of down rails is so much harder I think! So I'm happy bout that. Also doing front swaps on it. I haven't done a kfed in a couple seasons but this year I might have to bring them back

I MADE IT TO THE END OF A LONG (maybe 40ft) RAIL TODAY!!!!

Prior to today I was scared to even hit it, but my

homie got me so hyped to keep trying it. It felt so good to feel locked on for the whole rail. Definitely the best feeling of the day haha. (:

AHHHH I GOT LIP ON TO AN URBAN ON TUBE!!!! I've been on a roll lately and I'm super stoked on this season!!!

nice! Working on those tomorrow... I got switch lip on the other week so hopefully just switch on will be a bit easier lolol

have you tried these on flat rails? cause tubes are annoying to stay on... I learned a lot of stuff first on the tubes/pipes and once I hit a flat rail I was all "woah shits easy AF to stay on"
