I use DVD studio pro for all my DVD stuff.

Johnny uses final cut pro, I used premiere last year, this year I am using final cut pro as well.

is windows movie maker any good , i mean for like not pro stuff.

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

final cut is the shit... i only use premiere cus im on a pc, and i really dont like it all compared to final cut.. so if you have acces to final cut get it!

yeah im with schwags, pcs blow, im only using premiere cause i dont have the money for a mac yet, but as soon as i do im getting one

Yeah, nothing new. I've had dual flat panel for over a year now. My 17inch widescreen imac should be here any week now.

PC's don't suck. Either do mac's. It's just a preference so deal with it.

I agree with Windows Media being junk, the things I use it for are very small music vids etc. and for exporting .whatever to .wmv cause .wmv is the best.

But anyways, I wanna get Adobe Premier but I just have no money right now... except for the $400 in an envelope so I can buy my skis.

lol or you could always buy it with a capture card for like 200 bucks, it makes no sense, by itself, 600 bucks, with a capture card, 200 bucks

-i just farted, can you smell it?-

im using premiere 6 and i think that its very much enough for common people using..

but johnny d, levin and iberg may need something better..

I made scandalous with premiere 6, it is basicly the same as final cut pro. I like some of the features of Premire more, then Final Cut, and I like some of the features of Final cut more.

Just go to download.com and look in the video section, or search for video editors. If all you have is Movie Maker and you just want something to mess with, then there are a few on there that should work.

Otherwise, although I hate it, Premiere works. FCP is definately the way to go... if you have a MAC, and I wouldn't suggest having a mac for any other reason, because they suck for general use, the have to be specific, you have much more freedom with a PC even if they do have more problems.

hrmmm...I've never ever had trouble with PC and Premiere...but maybe that's cuz I am a computer hardware tech and a computer science major....or maybe it's the dual 2 gig processors and 1.5 gig of RAM...Dunno....

I have final cut pro 3 and shit i have no idea how to use it its all confusing. Im gonna buy a book though that teaches yo everything about it. but yeah is seem to be the best one out to use. If your getting an imac i would suggest getting the widescreen one its sweet with final cut cause it makes everything bigger and not crambed together.

When a door says private dont you just wanna walk in anyways

PC vs. Mac? Premiere vs. Final Cut? Common yall they do the same thing. Buy whatever you find is cheaper. Premiere and Final Cut's architecture was even designed by the same guy. Just get one and learn it.

Head injuries suck!

ya i was gonna say final cut and premiere are virtually the same only the color correction in final cut is 10x better then premiere.

And you can stop rendering somthing half way through a clip and watch what has been rendered... AND if you change an in or out point on a rendered clip you don't need to re-render the whole thing.

yeah good point, premiere pisses me off sometimes, probably cause i just suck with it

You aint shit if you dont use AVID...now I know non of you can afford a million dollar AVID editting platform but you can use one by the hour for something like 1800 bucks an hour depending on what machine, editor, and stuff you want to accomplish. This is the editting platform they use for hollywood movies and stuff. You can use a mini avid for less than that but thats not as much fun as being in a huge studio with hot girls bringing you coffee and stuff all day while you edit.

A brave man will not live forever but a coward will never live.

ive used avid xpress, but i think the studio with hot girls sounds a little bit better, too bad i dont even have 100 bucks to spend, let alone 1800

haha, macs yeah they rule. if your a little bitch. j/k it dont matter what kind of computer you have. I edit all my movies on my pocket pc.

Wasted State Represent!!

I like my boots like my women, rear entry.

Jib Tech, have you considered a real time rendering card? Maybe the DV Raptor or something...it utilizes hardware rendering and isn't quite 'real time', but is about 400 times faster than if you just use your processor. The only problem with this is the DVRaptor card runs about 800 bucks, but is totally worth it for just what you are saying....

has anyone on here worked with premiere 6.5 or the new avid express. How does that compare.

the best thing about 6.5 is the real time preview, so you don't have to wait for it to render to see what it'll look like

looks like i need to download 6.5

use Ulead programs for creating DVD's and dvd menues and the likes..... for editing--- adobe premier , i use it on my movies,

and school projects,

but i am gonna get a better comp with a dvd burner for next movie

this is off the topic, but oh well. i've used premiere quite a bit (well, a lot actually) but not for a while as my computer really sucks. my new computer should be here soon, so i'll be back to editing again. anyways, my question is, does premiere have any surround sound capabilities? i know I could just look through the program a bit, but I'm at work right now, so i just thought i'd ask. anyone know?
