Leviathan Gap - Heres a Video

Too many threads have been made about this thing, so i tracked down a copy of Tee Time (Kriss Ostness, the guy who recently made TBC) from about 5 years ago. I made a couple of videos for you all. The first is Leviathan Gap itself. Supposedly, its around 150-155, and to me, it definently looks like it. Unsure of the skier however.

I thought you all might want to see some more, so I made clipped the crash segment of the movie and uploaded it here:

The music is by Abba Teens - Mamma Mia

Sorry about the quality, I know it sucks, but its the best I could get. This video has some other cool stuff, like Chris Collins tripple backflip attempt on pyramid, Candides crashes on Chads and some other crazy stuff, including side by side triple backflips. Check out TBC to see some of these gaps 5 years later. Anyways, hope this clears some of the confusion.

Haha, I have to add this:

The best crash I've probably seen was that snowboarder about halfway through the crash video. He goes off sideways on the step-up, and you can see him skim the snow with his hand while hes inverted, then impacts the wall. Hahaha, I've been watching it over and over and its still funny.

holy shit, but is it just me or does it look like they built chads and pryimids a little father back and with way more lip....that was insane.

I love that movie. Back before I worked in the park in *shudder* Kids Camp we watched that every day. Reminds me of little bastards spilling hot choclate on me.

bahaha that second vid was soo sick!! this one guy kept doing triple backs!! fucking nuts.

Chads, Pyramid and Leviathan are all in Grizzly Gluch, near Alta, Utah. Im not sure about the other ones in the crash video, but i know a lot re-appear in TBC.

Too bad Ostness didn't get the respect he deserved back then ...long live Wind-Up Films... wish he was gonna make a movie this year. He was always pushing the backcountry so that every other ski and snowboard film had to be better.

yeah really....who are those people?? im a big fan of steeze, but when people were going that big 5 years ago i kinda wonder what happened....you dont see too many people going for 150 footers any more.

-rekker you are offically the NS member of the year

-is it just em or does it seem like falls hurt more when people have no steeze

-those guys were/are fuckign nuts...who are they???

"Last season WindUp Films (a Kris Ostness company) released its first ski and snowboard film “Clay Pigeons.” Largely freestyle oriented, WUF specializes in pioneering new moto-style terrain feature gaps such as the highly publicized 90 foot "Pyramid Gap" and 120 foot “Chad's Gap” in the Utah backcountry. This year’s film, "Tee Time," continues the WUF art driven, ski/snowboard, eclectic soundtrack, offbeat, very large shooting style. The crew returns to front flip and double back flip "Chad's" and "Pyramid" gap. New gap projects such as "Leviathan" and "Flagstaff Gully" measure 145 + feet and 90+ feet respectively. Backcountry kickers, tree gaps, 25 + foot step ups and the Sarlacc pit awaits you. Filmed in 16mm and super-8, color and black&white in Utah, Oregon, Canada, Sweden and Norway. Sponsored by Helly Hansen, LINE skis, Scott USA and Da Kine. Featuring Chris Collins, Jamie Pierre, Pierre LaBlanc, Eric Pollard, Skogen Sprang, Jon Olson, Kris Ostness and many guest appearances."

Candide has two huge crashes on Chads, straight airs... As for the other ones, I'm pretty sure most are the Collins brothers, but the others are probably old-school-new-schoolers that have been lost to time.

AS for uploading the video, someone give me a site I can upload a 25meg video and its yours.

wait candide crashing on chads...was this the same year as further

oh and could you torrent it? they seem to be all the rage

a few of those are ostness himself... sick stuff, i haven't seen that in so long!

all i know is that PY LeBlanc used tot kill Leviathan. he's prolly in there doing some triple backs. i didn't watch the video because this computer sucks.... but i'd bet that PY is in there.

Yes it was, Further was my first ski movie actually. I'll get a torrent going tonight or try and use Rapidshare or something.

Na, people just more control so you think that things are chill. Think about the Jon Olloson invitational or something like that, thinigs are still really narly we just know what we're doing now instead of hucking our carcass and hoping everything works out.

the second movie was soo sick. it's so oldschool. one guy tried a triple backflip over chad's gap. at least i think it was chads gap. correct me if i'm wrong
