so a couple of my friends had their gear stolen, this year i bought some expensive stuff for me and my son.

i work way too hard to let some low life steal it. up until now i never gave it a second thought but now im looking at locks.

what are some good ones and whats a good technique to tie/lock em up... say 2 prs of skis?

personally I just split my skis. Leave 1 ski and 1 pole on 1 rack, Leave the other ski and other pole on a far rack

You really have to ask this question?Just buy any little cable lock and lock em through the brakes to the ski rack.

The locks are shit (but cheap and light-weight) and yes the brakes could just be unscrewed but it should be enough to prevent an opportunist and thats as good as you're gonna get from something small and light enough to slip into your pocket.

ive seen the "ski" locks and honestly they look easy to break, if anything it would "slow" down the thief or hopefully call attention to.

nothing a small pair of channel locks cant take care of quite easily...

i was looking at some creative ideas.... i don't mind carrying it as normally i have a backpack on my anyhow....

Even though its a bike lock this would work as a ski lock its small enough to fit between the breaks. just an idea.
