Go ahead and post your suprises, predictions, and upsets and whatever else comes to mind with what has gone down so far this season. Now my suprise is the Avs, people were ranking thm dead last this year but there currently have one of the best records in the league. Just beat Calgary last night off a sick goal from Wojtek who by the way has been killing it this season.

I wasn't aware hockey had started yet. I think the majority of people weren't because hockey's fan base dwindles every minute. I want Ray Bourque back.

the avalanche have been one of my favorite teams my whole life, and i too thought they would blow this year

direct quote from me in their season opener "too bad they're playing the sharks and don't have joe sakic they are gunna get killed, they are going to be horrible" then i was suprised to see them win, and continue to win to this point

I just wanted to say that i'm pleased to see the Maple Leafs performing as poorly as they are to date. Fuck Toronto and all their fans.

The Wild are straight awful this year...enjoy that team sucka

Go Nucks! We're playing decent hockey right now with 3-4 starters out so i'm hyped for the team once everyone's healthy and adjusted to playing with each other.

I'm a Canadiens fan man but I think we gotta forget this year... we cant compete with the big shot teams... What a let down against the pens ouch. I'm still hopefull though, you never know whats gonna happen in the course of the season. Go Habs! Goin to be at the game saturday!

WHAT?
do you have any idea about what you are talking about? Hockey has always been big, but in the last few years, most major cities all across north america have been struggling to build more local arenas for minor hockey associations due to the huge demand for the sport and the increase of people singing up to play hockey every year.

i'm from Chicago so i'm a big Blackhawks fan, and is till can't over their loss to Dallas. Did anyone else see the dump in that shot off the side boards at a 90 degree angle and went in? it was the most rediculous thing i've ever seen. Huet should have been able to stop it but seriously what a way to blow a game. FUCK.

to the thread OP

the goal isn't that great because the flames player that pressured

played the puck and not the body. amateur defensive play, from what it

looks to be a winger.

that flames player made the avy player look good.

goal is nothing special.

bruins. mark savard and milan lucic will come back in a month and score goals and beat the shit out of anyone who has a problem with that

It's so AWESOME to see the Ave's kill it again, especially against the Red Wings.

On that note, anyone else find it interesting (in a cool) way that the Ave/RedWing rivalry is still hot and deep, despite the lack of hard competition amongst the teams the past couple of years? It seems that no matter who's on the rosters, everyone still thinks back to the Roy/Osgood center ice face off.

Wow was that sarcasm?

Matt Duchene is an excellent talent don't get me wrong, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Matt Duchene isn't PPG right now, and Sid had 102 points in his rookie season.... Im not sure about Duchene's leadership skills as I don't follow the Av's and didn't follow him closely in Brampton, but Sid led his team to the SC Finals 2 years in a row, in the second year leading them to the cup and the ring. There is also talk about him being the captain for team Canada in the Olympics.

Im not saying Matt Duchene won't be an amazing player in the NHL, I have high hopes for him, he shows great promise. And Im sure he is gonna burn the Canucks more than a fair share of times.

All Im saying is comparing Matt Duchene, even in the long run, to Sidney Crosby is shooting pretty high. Im thinking more of a player like Simon Gagne, hopefully minus the injury history hopefully.

Here's a great thread about Hodgson and Duchene growing up and and realizing the dream of making the NHL together, pretty good read.

Go Canucks Go.

The Canucks will get my hopes up again, and then mash their face into the ice in an epic fall during the playoffs. Again....

gotta believe....... avs wont last sorry anderson can't save his team forever pens caps best in the east sanjose van best in the west (by the playoffs)
GO CANUCKS GOBOBBY LU for mayor

What the Canucks' forwards are supposed to look like:

D Sedin - H Sedin - Samuelsson

Burrows - Kesler - Raymond

Demitra - Wellwood - Bernier

Hansen - Johnson - Rypien

What the Canucks' forwards look like right now:

Burrows - H Sedin - Samuelsson

Grabner - Kesler - Raymond

Rome - Bliznak - Bernier

Hordichuk - Rypien - Glass

And as an added bonus, NO LUONGO! We're basically an AHL team right now. Literally half our forwards are fill-ins. Still above .500 though... if we ride out the injury plague and can maintain that status, I will be pleased.

... But at least we get the comfort of knowing that JT hasn't seen a minute of game time since this.

Actually, latest news is Burrows is out too tonight.... Line up :

Glass - Sedin - Samuelsson

Raymond - Kesler - Grabner

Rome - Bliznak - Bernier

Hordichuk - Rypien - M.Schneider

Mitchell - Salo

Edler - Ehrhoff

Bieksa - O'brien

Yikes..... total of 23 million in cap on the sidelines right now.... Its getting beyond ridiculous.. The Canucks can't catch a break.
