***Lets split this bitch up!***

for trade/ sell/ buy all in one

gear talk  another thread

and for reviews on people, there should just be a little star thingy and people click the star ratings and rite a reviw about the person, and there should be a tally of negative and positive reviews for a person

equipment gabber

sales

trades

buying

and have it come up the three sections when you put the mouse on ski equipment

fuck_you.jpg

and yeah, gear swap and tech talk. problems solved

No way dude.

The Boot sticky and the Proper B/S/T really need to stay...

the 09 ski thread can kinda go now...

the good buyer/sellers list needs to be changed into something like EBAY... have a separate karma thing for good buyers/sellers... like 5 stars or whatever...

^i know thats kinda hard to do, but if it could, it would make things better for sure.

do people REALLY need a guide on how to make a sale or buy good boots?

go to a damn ski shop and try boots on.

pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee get rid of all them but the good buyers stuff

yewhh the way ebay has the good seller buying setup where u can leave feedback, and get a rating is so dopeee, would b a sik idea for NS, so everyone knows who's legit n not, def look into that setupp

Based on how many people still regularily post questions about if a boot is good or not, yes we really DO need a guide.

Open ski equipment to find three tabs:

|||Ski Equip Discution|||| ||||||Buy/Sell/Trade||||| ||||||Reviews|||||||

Having the reviews I think will increase the input into that, and it will ideally reduce questions like:

How do you like the SPKs?

-Jwennnz

Yeah, the searchbar is still painfully ineffective at the current time.

But that's a different topic. The boot sticky needs to stay.

Agreed! Like a reference forum where threads can't be started but are moved to if they're deemed worthy. Basic, but overall very important things could go there, similar to an FAQ. And users should still be able to post in those threads. We could move Trick Tips.. the bootfitting thread.. those sorts.

Referring back to TGR's setup: they have "The Hall of Fame" It could be like that, just with helpful informational threads.

Basically:

Tech Talk (or similar name) for equipment

Gear Swap (or similar name) for buy/sell/trade..

Useful Info (for important reference threads that are of value to be moved to. users can still post in there too. ex: Guide to Freeskiing, Boot fitting, Grab Guide etc..)

TGR has it down and if NS uses/ changes their style to fit our needs, it could work out.

3 way split

1) Sales/Buy/Etc

2) Geartalk

3) Feedback. Sellers start their own threads, or buyers, regardless, anyone who deals in the sales/buy forum, ppl who deal with them post in that thread so that it can easily be found by those wishing to do business, or always linked to by whomever it belongs to. Also keep that thread up top in this area for people who haven't dealt for a while

that sounds like a really good idea. then people could link to their feedback thread in their sig or profiles. people could also search the username and find their feedback thread. much better idea than the karma system or that ridiculously long everyone on newschoolers buyers/sellers thread.

i mentioned something like this like a year ago and people got pissed at me for even mentioning it.....but i think that the selling and trading threads should go in the same forum cuz some people usualy are willing to trade in addition to selling thier stuff... but the want to buy stuff should be in a different forum...its too bad the classified thing never really worked out..

I think that splitting sell/trade, and buying is a bad idea just because it'll decrease traffic. I think it just makes sense to keep it simple, let all exchanging of items occur in one thread, so people can just post one thread in which they can ask to buy something if so needed, but just in general i feel like splitting into buying and sell/trade is just unnessessary as there really isn't THAT many buy threads to warrant a completely seperate subforum which will likely receive much less attention.

i say keep all exchanging in one forum, so if anybody is looking to exchange they can see the other threads, helps both those looking and those trying to sell/trade/trade.

ski discussions

ski transactions

and make one sticky thread CONTAINING links to all sticky-worthy threads. perhaps the title of the sticky should include a "last updated" date that mods can change when new sticky-worthy threads

ie

STICKY - READ ALL INCLOSED THREADS BEFORE POSTING IN THIS FORUM (2/14/08)

or as you canuckistanians would call it, 14\2\08

^on second thought, "ski discussion" wouldn't work at all.

perhaps "gear gabber"?

and "buy/sell/trade""

i dunno......

as stated before pbnation.com is the most well formatted web forum that i have ever seen my favourite site of all time except im banned on site till i get a new IP adress for posting celebratory porn threads on new years lol

oh and a feedback forum would be amazing

I agree with you, we need to split it up. But i dont think we need a diferent forum for buying and another one for trading.

I think it ought to be:

Gear talk

WTB/WTT/Sell

1. B/S/T

2. Equipment Discussion

also (its been said a bunch of times) but some sort of program should be made to legitimatize the who goodbuyer/seller thing. i'm not sure how it would be done or how long it would take but that would be ballin. basically what i'm saying is that i second it

I actually dont have a prblm with it right now. I think that if we seperated it then one forum wouldnt get as many views and a person may not get their question answered/thing sold. Ppl just bump their shit ne way when the forum gets too many threads.

But if we do split it up keep it simple and go gear sale forum / gear gabber forum

rather than a feedback forum, why not a section of a person's profile to post buy/sell feedback ebay style

thats perfect..... it would be way way way way way way WAY!!! easier than searching through the hundreds upon hundreds of legit buyer/seller list....

just add a forum called "The Shop" or something. But yes a specific area for selling and buying would be effective as stated a million times already.

Sounding to me like the bulk of people want only 2 forums. One for discussing one for all things related to selling/buying/trading.

So I move that we split into two forums and see how that works.

Vote "aye" or "nay"
