Lets make an official NS trick guide.

I think that we as a community should get together and make an official ski trick guide. As a beginner, I am always working on learning the names of different tricks, and watching vids doesnt help alot usually. Most of the trick guides Ive found online are all utter shit, that tend to contradict one another. I think if we got a really good comprehensive list, complete with pictures for grabs and basic grinds, and gifs for ariels and advanced rail stuff, it would really help those of us still learning out alot. If it went as far as a short piece on how to execute the trick, even better! Maybe if its good enough we could get out of the forums and onto its own little page somewhere on the site thats a little more permanent. It seems like something like this would get alot of traffic on a regular basis if it ended up being posted somewhere that wasnt the forums, as forums end up getting pushed back into oblivion. If there are any NS mods who see this do you think we could get it up somewhere? Maybe make a NS wiki section of the website?

Example format would be

(TRICK NAME)

(HOW TO DO THE TRICK)

Although not as in depth as you are describing, the trick tip cult has some pretty dope stickies that cover a lot of tricks.

The thing about these threads is that you can't edit your Post, so the ability to have the entire guide in one easy place without having to read though all the pages of comments is a pain in the ass. Just sayin.

Exactly the issue. I figure if we can get a ton of tricks together, Maybe we can get an NS mod to put them all in one place. The issue with using threads is they get old, things start to not work. If we can keep everything as photos and gifs, that will avoid the broken video issue with that other thread too.

I agree with OP, the old one is dead. That being said, go watch stept skate on snow. It'll at least help you understand rail tricks and some jumps

I said this a while ago and it's still the best way to do it. In general, an entire free-skiing wiki would be schweet.

Yes it would. How do we go about getting someone from NS to talk to us about this. This being the best freeskiing website around, it seems like an incredibly appropriate place for it to be hosted.
