Lets here some road gap experiences

Anyone been hucking over multi lane highways lately? how about secondary highways? rural roads? Anyone?

I was eyein out this spot last year and told myself i was going to throw down over it. Come spring time i told my cuz'n to take me out to it and i'd throw down and he'd shit his pants and what not.

Couldn't have asked for a better day, snow was easy to shape but fast at the same time. Nice spring weather. So we were piling snow and piling snow and finally the booter's finished. Packed it down and built the run in....

I was scared shitless at this point knowing i had to do it. No turning back no pussying out. Just go big or go home.

One test run, figgured my speed was good enough to clear the guard rail on the landing side of the road(fucking sketchy). So Trucker after trucker went by finally worked up the balls to do er. 50 or so ft to the other side of the road + 25 ft in the air gets a bit nerve racking.

So i straight lined and flew it over the road cleared the guard rail by a couple feet and road away.

By this time I was pretty stoked on what i'd accomplished. Hiked to the top of the in run as the sun was setting. Just a picture perfect scene. I told my cousin to bust out his vid camera and away i went. Straight lined at the booter, dropped my left shoulder and hucked a misty 5 with a stylish lil safety. Didn't ride away too cleanly with the landing as short and sketchy as it was. It looked pretty damn mint on camera and i was pretty stoked to throw what i did, 2nd road gap hit of my life.

Told a couple pals about it came back the next weekend. My friends first try he smacked his ski on the guardrail. (only because he did a little pussy carve to slow down a bit before the jump). Then he threw a fatty back and a fucking corked 7 over it. pretty fucking nuts i must say. I stuck to the stylish 180's and sketchy misty 5's. We got some good footage that day and that night we made cheers to the road gap session.

moral of the story: 'go big or don't go anywhere at all.' cheers

lets here some stories ppl

i hti one last year.... it was prolly about 30 feet long kicker to landing... not to bad. the first hit i knew i wasn't goin fast enough, but i didn't wanna hike back up. and i hit it, and cased the road, and completely stopped. i didn't fall though. it was wierd. and my skis didn't even delam.

i've got most of the footage on a VCD.. does anyone know a small downloadable program compatible with VCD's so i can capture scenes off of it or something. I have problems posting pics as well... someone want to give me a lesson? or an example of an image location so i can catch the drift of posting pics?

Ive done a 30 foot gap 16 foot drop on my bicycle. My first experience was "yeah Ok, that was frightening but fun" (I landed) Next experience was "Ok, I just got back from whistler skiing on the glacier, I haven't ridden my cycle in over two weeks, but I'm itchin to huck, so lets go hit up Showcase". I died. Video of landing is in my profile, and I have a picture of the one where Im crashing somewhere in my profile as well.

Thanks to all storys and replys so far.

pics and clips on there way. and yes i did record off the TV screen wit a digital camera.

ROAD GAP CLIPS ARE UP!! 180 and sketchy ass misty 5 check it out! add a comment if you're feeling the need.

corked 7 and back flip still to come

yeah it was sick. those posts were stickin out of the snowbank. like i said my buddy smacked one with his New AR5's first run in. haha that's what a lil pussy carve will do to you. NO PUSSY CARVING to all you kids out there. those are words of wisdom

me and my buddies set up a kicker over a small (25') road gap at a golf course. It wasn't that far, but we built the kicker to launch you high. by the end of the first day we were parking cars under the jump and throwing 3's over it. pretty fun, but the landing was short, and easy to over-shoot and land flat.

^ that they would be. from my camera to a dvd at skool to my tv to my digital camera.

Thanks for tha input so far. lets see some more action.

Me and a few of my friends are thinking of building a small maybe 20-25ft road gap. the only problem is the landing will be a bit sketchy, short and skinny. I'll put a vid up if we get it together.

i was up at cranmore driving home i see this guy getting dragged by acar on the highway with skis on granted hes on a snow inrun hits this little jump and 5s over train tracks next to the road. So sick and random

Sounds perty dope. I've always wanted to hit up some train tracks. if i find some doable i'll definately be launchin over them.

Thats funny how you saw buddy there being towed. I actually have been working on a huge kicker on the side of my road. Me and a buddy finished piling the booter and the landing today. Going to hook up the car wit a tow rope tommorow and go off. Its going to be fun as fuck. I'll post some clips of it later on this week.

Thanks for all the werd on gaps. keep it comin

I made a tow in over my driveway last year, it wsa kind of small but it was pretty sweet, heres a pic of a 3 safety.

That's a nice rodheyo. right tweaked and you almost over shot the landing.

And the gap was ill. Keep the road gaps coming

I made a road gap over my drive... check my vids or i might have a pic or something.... last year me and some people were making a road gap over part of the road at loveland pass, we just finished the jump and were about to hit it and 3 cruisers pulled up with 2 cops in each... so yah they didnt like that and made us knock it down... this year when i go out we'll make it at night

has anyone ever tried doing a tow in gap over a street corner....at liek a 4 way intersection in a suburban neighbor hood, driving down the street and gapping the other steet?

ive been wanting to do that for so long, in new hampshire the roads always drop off on both sides with huge banks of snow at like, driveways and stuff... so all youd have to do is carve out a jump from one of the banks and you could easily jump a street/driveway with a car/sled towing you
