Lethal Descent Shipping and Product Update

If you ordered any outerwear from us then this was already sent to you but I still haven't heard from everyone who ordered. Also I think it is important for everyone to know the extenuating circumstances surrounding this year's outerwear and be rest assured that things are changing here at LD. As always if you have any comments or questions just shoot me a pm.

Press Release:

Hey,

We know that recently there have been many rumors flying around about sizing availability and delays regarding our winter line. Some of them are true, some aren’t, but we thought you should hear the full story from us and to tell you what your options are.

We have been using the same overseas supplier for the entire duration we have been operating. Last year we had an incredibly positive reception from them (especially considering the extremely limited quantities they were producing for us). We were both looking forward to the future and good positive relationship and it looked not only possible, but probable. The sampling process this year was the first strain on the relationship but it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be rectified at the time. Soon after when we finalized outerwear and placed the order we were told it would be at our doorstep late September/ early October. Starting in August the excuses started to pile up; whether they were actually legit excuses or they were just pulling us around we didn’t know but the finishing date got pushed back week after week until it was set at November 15, nearly two months late. Even at this point we were talking to domestic suppliers to take our contract for next year. Delays like we experienced are just not acceptable, our supporters deserve better than that.

Then things really turned south. The day the shipment left via express airfreight, we were informed that due to an oversight, the entire order was produced in size XL and that XLT was not produced. We were (and still are) absolutely livid. As a factory, producing an order in one size is much cheaper than multiple and the fact that they picked the smaller size (less fabric) truly hints that this wasn’t an accident. We are currently in the process of filing a lawsuit so we can hope to produce outerwear in the future; but international business law is no simple matter.

Here are the implications for our customers. If you ordered XLT you have a few options. We can send you your order in XL, this is really simple and your order can go out quickly. If that doesn’t work for you we will refund your order in full. So if you did order XLT please consider these options and send me an email at Sam@LethalDescent.com and I’ll get you taken care of.

All we can do is apologize and say thank you to everyone who is supporting us, we really couldn’t do it without you and we want to keep you stoked more than anything. Here at LD we try to do business differently than other companies; we are small enough that we can do business personally but obviously this can come back to bite us and we want to do everything in order to make this right. As always, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to hit me up.

First of all I have a lot of respect for you and I think that it's great that you are so directly in contact with your customers.
However, I would just like to point out that by stating this: "Here at LD we try to do business differently than other companies" and having your suits made "over seas" you're not really doing anything differently. Also, I realize how incredibly cheaper it is to have your gear made there, but if you're trying to go for the whole "smaller business/we do things different" angle, perhaps you should have your clothing manufactured locally, ensuring better quality, avoiding huge mishaps like this one and supporting the local economy.

he was talking about ethics and that they aren't like other big companies like Salomon selling the G-Suit incredibly overpriced and giving crap service.

LDC are good enough to talk to their supporters, what did Saga do last year when they got delayed soo much? left us waiting.

Ohh, and i'm glad to hear that you are gonna put up more suits for sale! i'll be waiting to order a pair of blue pants! unless I can 'pre order'? ^^

truth. baha

but plus karma/vibes/props for sticking with this company. they deserve to be supported. hopefully they will get an easy and profitable lawsuit out of this and will be able to keep up doing what they do best.

To those suggesting that domestic production is a good idea, sure its better for the independent/core/grassroots/rider driven image but in the quantities they produce, it would be almost impossible unless they passed the increased cost onto customers - then you would end up paying G-suit prices.

I don't know much about the company but i would bet that there is no way they have the volume of sales to make non-asian production financially viable.

You can still have good ethics about the way you go about business and still produce overseas, yes local production is good ethics business wise but its not the be all and end all. Especially for a smaller business producing locally in small numbers would vastly increase costs.

If the business is run properly and offers a good customer service, which to be honest LDC are doing it is not their fault if they have been done over by their supplier, this happens in business a lot. Then they are most probable going to keep moving in a positive direction. Its very hard to get your brand out and get enough customers to keep your business afloat when your small and new, ethics can come in to play later when the company can afford to.

Personally I have a lot of respect for them keeping everyone informed of what is going on and being honest which is rare these days.

I'm glad you guys can see it from our side, to address the ethics issue; we are operating at what I think is an acceptable level of ethics, our primary concern is not profit, it is expanding the company. Neither myself nor my partner have made a dime of profit, every dollar we get goes right back into the company. It is way more important to keep our customers happy and our name in good standing than anything else. We are shooting for sustainability (as cliche as it sounds) and keeping everyone (not just current customers but potential customers) in loop is an integral piece of that.

And yes we will be putting some outerwear for sale later this week, a little bit of everything probably so stay tuned to the site!

yah, i just found out after i bought my suit this year that u guys made xlt, i was super bummed cuz i wanted it, you guys can deff count on me purchasing on next year. so please make xlt! thanks, oh and im sorry to here that those guys fucked you over. its so shitty cuz you guys are such a new company and that must have been such a big blow. so goo vibes should be going your way soon!

Yeah, I think tall sizes only would be the best option. I feel like the jacket is too short, and it hangs on me like a lampshade. A 'very large' XL just feels weird when I can hang my hands lower than it, especially when its with those dope-ass pants.
Anyways, its nothing a tall-t won't brighten up, and I am satisfied nevertheless, and I can't get enough of those magnets, theya re so fun to play with!

everyone that orderd xlt should request a litle discount, keep there order and suck it up and rock the large...i bet its plenty big...just 2 cents

as true as it is that I cannot possibly wear anything that incredibly large, I have so much utter respect to LD for A: putting themselves out there, and B: staying incontact with us, the consumers. I hope to be wearing some dank lethal decent threads in the future...
