Leo's shack destroyed

we MUST REBUILD. Honestly, we have to stop complaining about it and figure out a way to effectively beat the system to get ourselves a new shack. The old Leo's looked amazing but where there is an end there is a new beginning. I know Vail is looking like a bunch of corporate cronies right now but if we can show them that Leo's truly has a place in our hearts then we might be able to come to an agreement. It's petition time.

ski resorts only care about the money aspect of things and would never stop selling alcohol.......although i agree the drunk people are way worse than being high. You can do almost anything high without being negatively effected but imagine someone being drunk before competing in the Olympics
 
let me rephrase.....someone who is very drunk over someone who is very high is worse but drinking isn't that bad if you are just casually drinking

On a completely different note, I can't believe Vail gave permission for those clowns to set up shop and place those hidden cameras.

On top of all of that those retards who they filmed really dropped the ball. They could of at least shown some discretion, I understand they aren't embarrassed and they shouldn't be, but Jesus they literally couldn't have given any better interviews to fit their agenda for writing that article.

Had all those guys been like the one dude who said "don't film me get that shit out of here", then there would be hardly be a story report. But now they were able to biased everyone into thinking that "you physically can't smoke and ride without being a hazard to yourself and everyone around you" all thanks to those two moron snowboarders at the end who actually ran into each other and fell like a dozen times.

firstly, either his parents payed for his college or he recieved scholarships. either way he is giving a middle finger to whomever payed for him. I know he personally didnt pay, because he is not in the process of paying off his loans.

I specifically said people WITH a college education who intentionally do not use it, instead choosing a hedonistic lifestyle while taking advantage of government supplied benefits meant to help the poor, are parasites. I said, those benefits are meant for people who dont have the opportunity(college education) to move themeselves out of poverty.

I have zero issue for people who are independent, have never taken charity they didnt need, are working their butts off and are enjoying life.

I take issue with people who take charity they dont need so that they can live a hedonistic lifestyle...like the guy i was talking to.

Over here education is completely free, you can even get money monthly from the government as a student, a subsidy or a loan, or both. The subsidy is completely free (tax funded) and the loan you then pay back (duh) when you are done with school. So with your definition I (together with all of my friends who go through Uni, get money and then do not immediately start working with something "real" after graduation) are hedonistic parasites.

For chrissake hes 21 years old and is already done with college. I fail to see how him enjoying his youth being a parasite. What he does with his life isnt really any of your business imo.
 
To all those people saying that ski bums "aren't doing anything with their lives" What exactly is it that you think they should be doing? I agree that people should not take advantage of government subsidies, but what about everyone else who is doing it legit? There is absolutely nothing wrong with setting your life up to be able to ski as much as possible and live a hedonistic lifestyle. There is no rule that says you have to work your way up the corporate latter, get married, have 2.5 kids, and buy a house. These dead end jobs don't benefit society? really? Tell that to anyone who works in the service/hospitality which makes up the majority of the job market in ski towns. I pay my taxes, I don't collect unemployment in the off season, and I love every day of my life. I feel sorry for anyone who is immature enough to feel the need to prove that they are "doing something with their lives" What the fuck does that mean anyways?

I think you should have done your skiing/funtime deal first, and then used your governments money to your advantage after you were done with that life.

I dont think anybody should take charity if it isnt absolutely neccessary. obviously you have no intention of putting your governments money to good use in the immediate future, so in my mind you backed out of the deal you made with the government- they pay for your education, you use that education to contribute to the economy.

Right now you are an net negative to your country, because you want to live in lala land, put off adulthood, and have as much fun as possible now...and you can do it relativly worry free because you have a government supplied safety net, in that education they paid for(taking unneccessary charity).

When you are given money, by the government, your parents(they recieve tax breaks for paying college tuition), or private donors, for schooling it is under the agreement that you will use that schooling for the benefit of society. Ski bums wiht a degree renigged on that deal.

Ski bums who never made such a deal, are kicking ass, and living up to their societal responsibilities. They are beholden to no man or government because they are doing it on their own.
 
I was just merely commenting that of money that comes from tickets, around half (or 38% as someone else in the thread mentioned) come from season passes and the rest from day passes which runs counter to the statement made by the other individual that "season pass sales are miniscule"

That shack looks ridiculous. How many man hours do you think were spent building that thing? How do you even build something like that? I ski the shitty poconos where you could never "hide" something like that. My mind just can't really comprehend how something like that could exist on a resort and not be destroyed long ago.
 
Horses eat apples, check mate. And just so everyone knows, every summer groups of people go to the mountain and make shacks, I can one hundred percent assure you they will rebuild it.
 
Your very wrong on this one. CJ's is considered a historic building and is actually now listed on the Breckenridge trail map. But when they did this a couple years ago, they put a lock on the door so you can no longer go inside of it.
 
YOU ARE A REAL FUCKTARD. How long did you spend in Breck? I would raise my kids there in a heart beat. You make it seem like there are drug addicts just wondering the street all the time. Ever thought you were just always in the situations where there were drug addicts. (Fucking Druggy) In my experience, you can find drugs but you have to look for them or be at a shitty bar like Cecilias or Liquid Lounge. I have lived on and off in Breck for the last 27 years and i have met some of the most amazing people you could ever meet. Breck has so much more to offer other than just skiing. The summers up there are the best because all the fucktards like you move away.
 
Lived there for 2 years year round, I have no idea why, and your the third person to imply this I lived there seasonal, I didn't. Obviously I'm not going to win this argument on a ski website, but that is my experience of living there for 2 years, that's how I felt. Maybe it's true, maybe its not, but any one else can feel free to move out there live there for 2 years and see for yourself. you also seem to be missing my post that I also met some of the most successful, amazing, interesting people while I was out there as well, its not all bad.
