"When looking back on the Renaissance, influential minds and idealists were prevalent, only a select handful equaled brilliance the brilliance of Leonardo DaVinci however. The epitome of the 'modern man', DaVinci revolutionized the ways of math, science and the arts. His ideas and accomplishments benefited generations and his breakthroughs spurred the future to come. Without DaVinci, the world would sorely miss his plethora of discoveries and inventions, such as...."

Then add on what you want to talk about. That's the type of quick thesis statement I would write up to begin a few page essay.

write about his severe ADD. he had literally hundreds of projects that he started but never finished because he didn't have the patience for it. he'd even stop working on contracted jobs he had (such as a painting) because he'd get bored with it. i read about one incident where he was contracted to paint a wall on the inside of a church, but the contractors were afraid he'd stop when he had gotten bored with it like he had done with the past. so, they played off his equally severe competitive nature and contracted another wall in the same room to be painted by his arch rival, michelangelo. sure enough, he stuck through the whole thing just to be sure michelangelo didn't do a better job than him. that'd be an interesting topic, to discuss all the works and inventions that could have been. shouldn't be too hard to find material on it either. good luck, da vinci is one of the most interesting humans to have ever walked the earth.
