Length of Twintips.

hey guys,

I'm going to buy twintips for the coming season (armada arw's, probably), and so I wanted to ask you if I should take them with a length of 166 cm or a length of 171.

I'm 171 cm tall.

i don't know anything about womens skis, but don't most girls ski their skis shorter than men do. i think most girls i see skiing are on like 160-168ish maybe? i could be wrong though

hmmm, don't know, but on photos like on a podestal when the winners have the skis in their hands (also women), the skis are very often longer than the body..

women sometimes ski womens skis, which are usually in shorter lengths. Ski size is all preferance, I have Coombas that are a few mm shorter than 194 XXLs, 181 PCs that measure 184, and 189 LL2s and I am under 160lbs. Mounting a ski for park makes it seem shorter, so remember that. I love the Coombas for long turns and speedy cliffs, but for tight trees I do not like that length.

I met a women who was on EP Pros and also owned bents(179 or 189, can't remember) who said mens skis are best for everyone and she had some stiffer mens skis too. She was tiny.

ya ive noticed that too. alot of girls i see in the park use shorter skis. if your gonna try park with a little all mountain id say a 161-169. but if your gonna just be doing groomers and stuff ya get the 171

Your height has so little to do with it.

I was going to buy a pair of skis based on my height, i was going to get like 162's or so?

then someone stopped me, thank god. I ended up getting 172's and those were to short and im now going to be skiing 180's.

so basically. what kind of skier are you? how good are you? we need info

preferance. Taller people have a higher center of gravity, so a longer ski gives stability. shorter people that ski hard still often prefer skis that are long for stability. Tanner Hall and Dumon are tiny and ski 181s

it's like these skis will be my first twintips, i used normal skis since my 4th birthday or so. but then i got bored by this normal skiing stuff and so i decided to freestyling. so i went to the snowpark at last season's end and i really enjoyed it, though i was afraid of having crashes with my normal skis xD. so i just tried the basic stuff.

and this season i wanna go skiing in the park (and pipe, if i can call that little thing in our park "pipe"), so nothing with backcountry or so. i wanna concentrate my skiing in the park, for jumps & rails.
