Length of POW ski's

I'm 5'8,135,done growing and prefer shorter ski's. I need to know if a 179 pistol or 169 pistol is a better choice for me. I will be using it on trips out west and some world class michigan backcountry. (kidding about the worldclass comment!)

You could probably go either way there. I'm too lazy to convert centimeters to inches(why do we have this system again?), so I'd recommend going to a ski shop and seeing how big they are in comparison to you. I'd go 3+ inches above your head if you're planning on a lot of big mountain/deep powder, but if you're doing a lot of park go with something a little shorter than that.

normally if you do pow like 60 % of the time or above you should have a bigger lenght. If you have seth vicouis you can easily handle them at 179 cm

for 5'8" 179 would be perfect. 169 if you are a pussy.

Well i spose the obious question is can you ski? Im like5'9 70kg and ill be on the ARV 175cm i would have liked to go bigger but 185cm for park is too excessive. Nick

you'll be fine. perhaps mount a few cm forward though. But 169 is definately too short for u especially as its a pow stick.
