why is it that every shop is surprised to hear that i (5' 7" and 130 lbs) ride a 155cm board. they all say i should ride like a 140 or something. i feel that a 155 for me is perfect. And i ride park all the time.

Meh, All the shops tell me I need a LONGER board... I ride a 155 as well, I'm 5'10" and around 155-160 lbs, size 10 boots, they tell me I need like a 158-160. One guy told me,"you aren't gonna like the small board, can't go fast enough, and you just won't be able to handle it" after I told him i got a 155. Maybe he didn't know that I wanted to do park instead of freeriding...

Yea no offence to shop people but there so used to dealing with newbs that i just ignor there sales shit because i know what i want. Im 6 foot tall and 140 i ride a 156 which is a little big because im soo light but i like it so its ok

You could always try a longer/shorter board at a demo because you never know. but I ride a 151, I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs

wel you could prob go shorter then a 155 i wouldnt say go below 150 though.

i my self am 6'2" 280+ and i ride a 164 which is tevchnically to small for me but i dont want anything bigger all i do is drop my stance back a litle

im 5'7 125 pounds and i ride a 156. somehow i manage, but i definatly need a smaller board, in thinking capita stairmaster 148 is gonna be perfect for me

not neccessarily. smaller boards are better for smaller, jib-type features and easier to control on rails. small boards are not good on bigger jumps because they can't offer the support and stability of bigger boards.

I think your board length should be determined on what your speacialty is. If you're in the park all the time, then yeah you might want a smaller board. But then when you take on the trails, there's no way you're gonna be able to lay down some sick carves with a small board. My friend Jules is a mad good carver and he rides a 173. So it's all about what you're into.

I like them on the longer side but the only problem is I have a men's park board which means the stance is centred and wide. so even when I have the front binding all the way back it's still pretty centred. Maybe next I should get one with some setback.

im 6'0 140 lbs. and ride a 155 for park and pow and a 152 for urbans loner board fell more comfortable for me though. and i can spin fast with a longboard too. and you definitely have more control with a longer board. ever rode a rossignol mini?

it all comes down to weight. and 155 is pushing it you'll need a 152 or 148. im around 160 and i ride a 157.

if you only ride park you could definently drop down to like a 152 or 150. however that length isnt really bad for you, but the stiffness will effect you more cuz you don't weigh much.
