I'm gonna buy a pair of twintip skies (first timer) but I don't know how long they should be. I'm about 6'2 tall (192 cm).

im 6foot and i ride 174's. They work well for me.

Okey, I see there are different opinions here. But are there any 'rules' when it comes to whether you're gonna be in the park or the hill?

im almost ur height...usually people would go around upper 170's to anything in the 180's

Jeepers Creepers, where'd you get the neat sneakers?!?!

hehehe giggle giggle giggle

at 6 2 you should be using something about 180.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

hey man...anything between 170 and 180s should be fine. You also need to consider what u weigh...if your like 220, you need to be on something like 185's, but if your of normal build stay within the 170-180 range. Also, pay attention to how much flex is in the ski...a stiffer ski is less forgiving in the park, but generally better on the groomers.

Finally, the width of the ski is important depending on what type of snow your going to be riding. Lots of snow get a mid-fat...little snow get something like 1080's, etc

a good rule of thumb is for the skis to be about an inch taller than you, sometimes a bit more, usually not shorter than that though. other than that, the post above this pretty much covered it

start smoking crack. It'll probably be better for you, and you won't need alcohol anymore - Melvs

as far as the leingth of the ski goes, it is measurd the exact same way, by the surface area leingth of the ski, so there is no special rule for that, if you know what you ride with a normal shape ski, then just go with that leingth again, im the same heitgh as you and i ride a 180.

'what?' Lauren every time you ask her a question for the first time!

skiing what i thought this was a porn site and every one i was talking to were sexy ppl ..i thought skiing was a sex term we all uesed. damn!-twintiprider

Okey, then I got an idea of what suits me.

When it comes to which ski to choose, I've looked at the Line 1260. But mostly it's been written that this is basically a park ski. And I won't start with freestyle but rather freeride (as I gotta lern). So is this also a good twintip for freeride (and after a while, freestyle)?

ther skinny to, so if you get a powder day you gonna sink down into it prety easy, have you looked at anything else?

Take ur regular non twin ski length, and then add the length of a twins tail onto that, ex 175 normal, then get 180, cause u still have the same length of base on the snow. U still have 175 cms in contact at all times (- the tip). 6'2'?, then id get 180-185

well well well, if it isnt the people telling a beginner to get 180's. i guess they work for his height, but i got 170's, just cuz i needed somethin a little shorter for which to learn on. ill get 180's next year.

i'd say a teneighty 181 would be good for you since they are soft they are great for makeing the transition into freestyle and they are one of the best twins for skiing all mountain within price range. Msp's would be best but they cost soo much.

if you are a beginner, i would definitely not recommend anything over 175, but if you have been skiing for a while you could go to like a 180 or so
