Legit way to reduce gas prices

instead of doing no gas says which is dumb as shit cuz it doesnt do anything we need to start boycotting companies. so from now on dont buy gas at the two biggest distributers esso and shell. if we sucessfully boycott those two companies they will be forced to lower gas because alot of ppl wont buy it from them, forcing all other companies to lower gas prices.

if this has been posted i really dont care

that would drive prices up..because if you're going to the pump more often, then you are costing the station more because they have operating costs...not to mention that would be worst for the environment because the pumps would be filled with line ups for people waiting to fill up, and they will be idling their engines producing more pollution

The best way to reduce gas prices is to produce more gas. That won't happen because nobody wants an oil refinery in their back yard.

or we could go for the right air pressure in the tires, fuel injector cleaner, not driving like ass holes and clean air filters. hey wow all awesome ideas.

This is so true.

Even if you do have one near you its not going at full capacity because fucking enviornmentalist won't let them so gas cost even more because we don't have enough refinery's and the ones we have aren't being used effectivly.

the first idea wont work. it was an email going around saying that if you buy from smaller companies then the big ones would lose their profits and lower prices. but the smaller companies get their gas from the refineries owned by the larger companies. it would make no difference. plus the smaller companies would likely run out of gas because of the increase in demand and give the large companies even more of a monopoly.

I don't think anything we do is going to drive prices down... Americans, Canadians, Brits, everyone needs gas, and we are willing to pay the high price for it.

that also doesnt really work because it drives up the price of food as we are seeing right now.

The only way to reduce gas prices is to decrees consumption, or increase production.

Increasing production won't do very much because we will soon run out and production will drop. Also consumption will just keep up.

That leaves you with decrees consumption. So start to carpool, ride mass transit, walk, ride a bike. all those are on a personal level, pretty easy to do and will help lower consumption. On another level you can start buying local, or trying to use alternative energy.

that would get you about 1 and 1/3 gallons of gas which takes you almost no where...but i get what your saying about frequent filling

drilling in alaska right now would prob be the only way to slightly relieve prices, but even still they are gunna go up until alternate energy arrives and that is no where near nor efficient yet. Zap has a few electric cars... one good one but at 60,000 its not efficient cause i can buy a 20,000 car and 40,000 of gas. and then equal out, there is no true effcient alternative yet. we are making steps but not fast enough.

Not if the government wasn't retarded and insisted on corn ethanol that pretty much sucks a dick just as much as gas does. Sugar ethanol is where its at. If Cuba ever gets their shit together and we allow trading with them, then we could at least be out of this oil crisis for a while. Why do you think Brazil is doing freaking amazing with fuel these days?

the amount of gas in alaska would provide america with gas for about a month, and it would cost a shitload to even get setup for the drilling process. its just not worth it

and improving production of gas...another reason the price is rising besides the crappy us economy, is that comsumption is at a faster rate then production. waaaaay faster. oil takes forever to actually become oil, that is millions of years, so to speed up the process of the oil resource is impossible. oil is getting more expensive because there's not much left. because consumption is at a higher rate of production, the amount of oil left is decreasing rapidly

this site has a ton of info on the oil curve, how much is left, how much oil is actually being used, how much has to deplete until it becomes a huuuge problem...and other stuff

good idea but your gonna have to get a lot of people to do that and most arnt gonna want to take the time to fina another gas station but yeah ill support it

AC only improves you gas milage after you start going over a certain mph. the certain mph that it iimproves the gas milage depends on the areodynamics of your car and stuff because having your windows down causes drag. its a safe bet that on the highway its more efficient to have your windows up and the AC on though..

too bad u didnt read what i said i didnt say boycott all large companies i said boycott shell and esso, theres tones of other companies u think ultramar buys from shell or esso?

or just buy huge ass tanks to keep gas in when it is like $3 a gallon and fill the tanks all the way up and just get gas out of it when it goes above $4 gallon
