I don't care how many times this thread has been done. even if it isn't legalized, they need to stop fucking testing for it. I'm fuming right now and it's really not fair to test for marijuana, it's just an excuse to get people in trouble for something that is nobody else's business. FUCK YOU MARIJUANA TESTERS I HATE YOU ALL!!

no no no heroin is crossing the line. but alcohol is just as potentially harmful as pot. that's what i don't understand. if alcohol is legal, why isn't marijuana?

because you are intelligent, and now I can't work at subway. i was ready to go and they're like oh one final thing, drug testing, so they made all the interviewees take the test and those that came up positive were 'excused from the interview'

the real reason why pot is illegal is because ...

we all know that it stimulates people.. sexually.... and in the early 1900s-mid 1900's, mostly durring the jazz music era, white and black people would get togeather to listen to this music, often, black men would play the music, and white men and women would listen and watch... now... this was in the era of segragation.. the government hated the people mixing.. and often times people would smoke weed.... and like i mentioned above, the white women and black men would become aroused from weed, when they got aroused they would have sex. the government just diddnt know what to do.. so they made it illegal to posess or smoke marijuana so the white people and black people would not hang out togeather as much.. and there wernt 1/2 white and 1/2 black babies all over.... this and some other stupid reasons are why pot is illegal... and the government is to stubborn to change their minds back even know they know its not that bad for you

well the testing is not done by the government its done by an employer so even if it was no longer illegal they would probably still test people since marijuana does make most users lazy and lose ambition which eventually leads to coming in late

its like alchohol if you came in to work drunk they would fire you.

 
thats true... but thats where self control comes in, you have to establish the importance of work vs the importance of weed and then you wont get lazy from it

ya idiotic reasons such as this are really why the drug is illegal today. the govt. used to say that pot makes users hallucinate and go out and kill people, among other things. the entire debate that caused marijuana to get banned in congress lasted under a minute.

why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice?
 
the government is so stubborn.. for real... they wont admit their past mistakes.... if weed was legalized the US would be so much more peaceful

It's tested cause it's illegal. People ONLY smoke to get high. I can't say that the beer my dad drank at dinner tonight was because he wanted to get drunk. There's a difference, and there's also abuse of alcohol.

If you abuse anything, it's bad. It's just assumed with laws that you'll be smart enough to not abuse them. Look at the gun law. People can own guns, and when they aren't abused, they aren't dangerous, but when they are, and obviously somebody will, they're dangerous.

but pot is an exception to that rule somehow, because you get high and aren't yourself, it can be abused too, but your under the effects of something, whereas other things like alcohol need a decent quantity before they get you out of your mind.

I didn't mean drug testing makes a reputable business. I meant that most business would prefer a sober person working, as most business owners feel that there is a chance that an employee under the influence of something would be more likely to do something unrespectable.

There are a lot of pros and cons when it comes to legalizing marijuana. I know this sounds stupid but even though I smoke I don't think it should be legalized.

to the kid saying heroin is crossing the line....dont take this to serious cuz well its fucking heroin, but in all honesty being entirely to fucking stoned is a lot worse then being H'd up, not justifying it, it should be illegal because of its addictiveness, but then again look at oxy contin, basically same thing just one is cleaner than the other, its just a body high so in reality driving high is harder.

It wouldn't be as cool to do it if it was legal and the government doesn't make it legal because it would be too hard to tax and make money off of. Anybody can grow it in their own backyard so if it was legal everybody would just grow it themselves instead of buying it at a store and the government would get nothing out of it.

people dont "just smoke to get high" your wrong... people use it for many many reasons... madicinal uses can be for pain, curing headaches and stomach aches... most commenly its used to get people with cancer and other illnesses to eat because it is an appetite supressor... other uses are people to relax, and relieve stress, and some people use it to help them sleep... so dont post saying that the only use is to get high because your dead wrong

its been answered. You don't always drink t get drunk but when you smoke you get high, there is no middle ground.

I find it hilarious all the badasses saying how it won't be as fun if they legalize it. I'm glad you smoke to be a rebel and like to break the law in your own little way. funny thing is that tobbaco is legal and kills millions of people a year. if anything it should be illegal to smoke tobbaco. they should put more time into stopping the use of tobbaco and leave the pot heads alone . then there is drinking, yeah anyone for a beer

Fo serious, but you can drink to relax, and other reasons like that. In canada, theres medical merijuana, but there are some politions fighting to legalize possession for weed, instead of giving you a ticket. You dont get arrested for it in canada. Unless ur growing it en mass. But anyway that would be sick if it became totally legal in canada. I would spit in my americans friends faces.
