Left my nikon D40 out in the rain

SHIT... its at my house drying i didnt try and turn it on yet... but it was outside all night and it rained pretty hard. Im at school now so i dont have access to it till later. Any tips on what i should do?
 
put it in a bag of rice, that will absorb all the moisture, ive done this with my cell phone 3 times now and it still works
 
what he said.. take it apart the best you can and put each part in a bag of rice for a week and dont try to turn it on until that weeks over
 
Or go to the store and buy damp-rid and then put the camera in an air tight container with damp rid. The damp rid will suck the moisture out of the air, and dry the camera out. Let it dry for 1 week+

Consider taking the camera apart as well to aid in the drying process.
 
How do you forget your DSLR out in your yard?You should probably be counting your blessings, at least it didn't get stolen.
 
Yeahhh, if you left your DSLR out in the rain, maybe its best you just donate it to someone who will take care of it. How do you forget a multi-hundred dollar electronics item in the rain?

If your answer doesn't involve both hookers and blow...it is an invalid answer.
 
alright i took it out of the rice and it works! thanks now i just have to clean off the shit the rice left on
