Okay, last year i really sucked at spinning, like REALLY sucked, i did like two 3s the whole year. Well this year i have new twins, and i can probably pull that stuff a lot better. Question is, how can i learn to do corks? Any little things you progressively tried until you got teh whole thing down? See, I dont wanna just go out and huck, and I wanna be somewhat safe throughout doing this, how did you guys learn?

you should probably be comfy with throwing semi big 7's on a descent size table before you think about corking your shit out....that's just my opinion tho, don't rush it

the best way that I've learned to do corks (on the tramp) is a 90 to a fairly uninverted misty.

If you couldnt do 360s with normal skis, having twin tips is NOT going to help you.

thats very true

and i'll tell ya, all i worked on at CoC ..well, sometimes , and i still can't get fucking corked barely. it's hard, especially when you suck on the tramp.

I agree, keep practicing spinning and when you have that dialed start trying to cork it out. I can do 5's right now and plan to start messing around with 3's and 5's trying to cork them out a bit but I'm not going to try a cork 7 until my 7's are really solid. I have also noticed almost every rider does corked spins a little different and will have to figure out what works best for me.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that was thinking that.

Well my skis i've been doin them on were atomic carving skis, and the bindings are mounted pretty far back. This year i have 1260s which are lighter, and have center mounted bindings, thats how i figured it would be easier. I also have worked on spins on rollerboots so i have the motions down a little better. Im gonna work harder to get them down on snow this year, i just dont wanna get hurt and sit the season out

first... be able to do spins, up to 7's and 9's comfortably then i you can try corks in pow.. just drop your shoulder or somethin... and cork 3's are harder than 5's and 7's if you want to actually be off axis with style

no, cork 360s are easier than a normal 3, everyone can do them :)

off course, a cork three, so simple, its only off-axis, hehe... hmmm.. ooo, also just stare at the landing when you wanna land, you come out of the off-axisness that way

i can do up to a 7 or 9 straight

but when i went to cork i went for the 5's....

i'd say dont try to cork your biggest spin, cuz you'll be thinking about the spin to much, try to do it on something you're more comfortable with=learn to spin better first.

Ok you guys. I need some serious help. I got my cork'd 180's dialed but I can't quite land my cork 270's yet. What the Hell is the problem?

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

haha, that's pretty funny stuff. If you ask me it is way easier to throw a cork 7 than it is to throw a regular 7. And also i learnt a cork7 before i learnt a reg.7 So my advice is just TRUST YOURSELF, maybe you'll biff but like that one guy said; guaranteed you'll get it!

switchrodeo: i agree, i think it's much easier at first to yank your corks with big spins and big jumps for that matter....my reasoning is that you yank your spin as hard as you can, then you have plenty of time chill and spot your landing and stomp it...you will feel the cork more if you go bigger too...

i think the man wanted to know how to do corked spins, somebody who knows how to do them tell how fast, im going to a place with a trampoline tonight and i want to know how, little poops.

if you wanna see a cork 180, look at the last freeze from last year (the one with belenger doing a phil grab over evan dybvig in a half pipe) and the first sequence in the freezer is eric pollard doing a pretty 180 and if you look at the first 5 or so frames he looks pretty corked. thats the only one ive seen or even heard of

toe: throw across your body and down...not as much down as across...if you can visualize a misty, which is throw across to opposite foot and down, just do that but aim for waste high or a little lower to not go inverted...it's easy, you'll get it

If you spin left than throw your right arm down towards your left hip and at the same time look over your left shoulder (it is really all about the look) but look more towards the ground behind you. It may take a little time to get but don't get discouraged and stick with one way of learning them and you'll get there all the faster.
