Learning 2’s on

Those of you who can do a 270 on (onto a rail) how many slams did you take learning to do so? How long did it take? I got it on a box last season but a rail is a different ball game. My whole body hurts but I will not stop trying until I am cold and dead

I learned by doing a 180 onto a big tube then just put a little more spin until I got to 270. I still suck at them tho so there’s prolly a better way

try them onto a down tube before you take them to skinnier rails. Try not to look down at your feet, you will hunch over and ruin your balance.

The biggest problem for me was aiming the 2 on. I would always jump too far over the rail and land a bit off the other side of the rail. to fix this I literally just started aiming for a spot slightly to the right of the rail and it basically corrected it so that I landed dead center on the rail after the 2 on. It takes a while to get good at them

You don’t really eat a lot of shit on the 2 on unless you have no idea what you’re doing. Most of the time If you fuck it up you just fall off early. Just find a fat tub and get to work if you can already do them on boxes. They’re a very transferable trick.

It took me a solid 2 years and a lot of shit eating to get consistent 2 ons. The hardest part really is just locking into the rail once you land on it, traditionally unnatural. A problem most people face is landing on the rail then immediately letting their momentum spin them to 50-50.

okay now that the 270 on is covered, how do I 420 out??

Switch 2 on came first because you can spot all the way around and it gets you use to the feeling, for me the hardest part was not continuing to spin when I land on the rail. A low tube makes this process easier on the body then the progression to a flat bar.
