Learning 270 on

When you guys first learned to 270 onto a box or rail, did you spin unnaturally into a natural stance on the feature or spin naturally into an unnatural stance on the feature? Is one way easier than the other?

im just starting to get the hang of it, and im spinning right (which is natural for me) and landing with my right foot forward (unnatural stance)

I’ve only ever done natty spin to unnatty slide 270’s, they’re definitely more approachable- especially on a box.

i would spin natty.

send both tho i’m curious now

I spin natural and land on my unnatural foot. The best tip I ever learned for them is to pretend like you’re just gonna 180 onto the rail and then shifty over the last 90 into the slide.

If you do decide to go unnatty make sure your getting your tips over and chucking your tails over immediately after. Alot of people get caught up on throwing the spin and catch the rail

If your just learning them go for natural spin, land unnatural land. Wide skis, big pop and keep looking for it.

If i could give advice to me learning them 15 years ago, it would be to work on them both ways right away. It may be annoying, but will open up a much larger bag of tricks immediately. practice them both! left and right.

I will definitely spin both ways because if you only work on one then you get scared of the other and I want to be able to 2p2

land looking uphill with all your weight on your uphill foot

This is kinda surprising. My biggest thing learning 2's on was having more of my weight on the downhill foot because my feet would otherwise slip out ahead of me.

name checks out, follow this guys lead

On a really wide and short dancefloor box, you should have no problem spinning natural onto it and sliding un natural.

you want to have back swaps down on a tube rail before trying 270 on.

-start with a 180 onto and let the rotation continue to 3.

-keep adding a little more spin until you are landing on the box at 270.

-try the same on a narrower and longer box thats pretty close to the ground.

-ideally you will start locking into the side of the box and prevent continuing the rotation to 3.

-try 270 on to sw out.

-moving back to the tube, go on natural, and as fast as you can, do a blind swap. ideally you will be able to do it as soon as you touch the rail

- send the 270 on. you should be pretty well prepped at that point.

This is literally the best 270 on advice you’ll ever hear. Once you understand this, 2s on are no problem.

Also op just learn it both ways, like idk why you wouldn’t…
