Hey, I recently turned 14 in November and I just took my Drivers Exam, but I didn't pass. I've taken all of the online practice tests and studied the Driver's Manual book. Does anyone have any tips on passing it for my next time? +k
 
take it again and you'll pass it. dont really need to do anything else. if you fail twice well...
 
Have to say, although you're from Alberta, Canada, it would be good to say that before asking people from a site that has denizens from tens of countries, and at least one large country that could have tens of different driver's exams and tests.

Is it multiple choice, is it timed, is it a written or/and picture exam, what's your source material for studying et cetera?
 
The learned test in Alberta is actually pretty hard. I failed on my first time, but only got 1 wrong the second. It's basically the same questions. My tips are; Tale the test again as soon as possible, memorize the questions you got wrong, and ask the helper lady's for help. The last one is important, everyone wants you to pass, so if you're having trouble with a question, ask for help. Most of the time they will make it do easy to answer, and almost give you the answer! Good luck on your next try!
 
Sounds pretty fucked though, in theory. Isn't the purpose of a test to, you know, have people pass only if they are good enough, not "make it easy to answer" and "almost give you the answer"?
 
The colorado permit test was such a joke. I did it in like 5 minutes and got a 98 percent or something. But you can get your permit until 15 in CO then no license until 16. Is license at 15 in alberta?

Nevada it's 15 1/2 for permit then 16 for licence. and the tests are hard as fuckery
 
Dude i failed twice then passed just read that stupid book more. They really concentrated on the drinking and driving and demerit rules and times for school zones on mine. Eventually i had a few of em memorized for the win.
 
Fuck... if you fail here it's about $80 for a second try, not many fail. If you fail the driving test it could be up to about $500.
 
I failed my first one too, got it on the second time round (I'm in BC where you take when your 16). For me is was that I didnt take it seriously enough and just thought it would be all common sense. Just REALLY read through the book, try and remember the ones you got wrong and read read read until you take it. Some of the questions are tricky because it seems like there is more than 1 good answer, if you get stuck just try and step back for a minute and think about the situation in real life, try to imagine it.
 
Alberta's pretty much farm country, I think thats why the age is lowered. I dont see the problem with it fuck I just want my full license so bad already
 
you have to have someone with their graduated license behind the wheel with you until you get your probationary license.

haha yeah my cousins live there, shit sucks haha. And don't you have to get like 8 hours with an instructor on your permit before you can drive with parents? Jersey's laws are kinda ridiculous. In PA there's 11 o'clock curfew till 18 too though, and there's some new law about passengers but no one obeys that. The out of state thing is fucking rough, Jersey's pretty small and not being able to leave kinda undermines having a license.
 
I got exactly 80% on my test, didn't even read the book. It's mostly common sense. 4 more months until my N, seems so long ughhh....
 
I can get my full on license in 42 days, stoked as fuck. Someone take the time to figure out what day that is. Slight claim.
 
in Northern Idaho we can get our learners permit at 14.5 and licence at 15. really sketchy but we live in a pretty rural area. still a bad idea but you cant keep hicks from their trucks

in the UK the age is 17 and even then i wouldn't get in the car with a lot of people i know (even now when i'm nearly 19 there's people i wouldn't trust)

like srsly. 14 year olds. wtf.
 
thisss, here we start driving class at 16 and get our driving license at 17. little 14 y old are going to do stupid shit with a car.
 
i'll just post this again for all of the retards who are talking out their asses.

you have to have someone with their graduated license(must be 18 to have this) in the vehicle with you until you get your probationary license.
 
Since you live in alberta you get your Learners, which means you have to drive with an adult. You can't ride by yourself. I'm not sure how it goes in Alberta, but I know in BC that at 16 you can go for your L and take the test on the computer. I read less than half the book and passed with 80%. 90% of the test is common sense. There is no reason why anyone should fail that test unless you are really fucking dumb.
 
like the guy said above, i dont care if you're with your parents or not, 14 is still too young IMO. again, here , you need to be 16 to drive with your parents.
 
an alright mark? if you would have gotten 1% lower, you would have failed. 80% is the passing point, at least in BC.
 
I'm fully aware of what the passing point is. I know some kids who read the book multiple times, and still failed. I read like 50 pages out of the 160 pages of the book.
 
ok, you just come across as a hypocritical dickhead as you say "you have to be fucking stupid to fail the test", when you barely passed yourself... give it a little thinking next time.
