Leaning back too far on rails

Every time I hit a box or rail I lean back pretty much as far as you can go without slipping, bend my back leg, keep my front leg mostly straight and have my back ski flat with my front one on its inside edge.

I think it might look cool (don't film), and I don't slip out, but its pretty much making it impossible to start to get switch ups/270's. No solid base. I always try to think about getting my weight as far forward as possible but my grinds almost always end up like that.

think of sliding on ice. you would never slide on the ice like that would ya. think about staying low and equal balance. once your low and equal you now have energy saved up to expend on ether rotation or pop. try just standing on a box with your skis off and get a feel for 1) balance 2) boot center 3)equaling forces between the feet 4) what muscles you need to lock to hold that possition
and all an all just getting a feel for the ice again. CCCR
i hope this is what you where asking

im having a hard time picturing the position you are in.  but im asuming you are just learning how to grind boxes.  one thing that really helped me when i first started sliding rails and boxes was being in an athletic position(knees bent, sholders over your feet, hands wherever they feel like they help your balence the most).  yes it doesnt look "steezy" but you are in a good set position which you are balanced which will put you in a position to sw up and spin out.

put both of your hands on your front knee , look at the end of the rail .be more agressif , i think your a little scared and leaning back.

I wasn't looking at the end of the rail. I was getting away with it pretty well but yeah thats what it was everything clicked once I started doing that.
